1 Tessalonicenses 1

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; 3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; 4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. 5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: 7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. 9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

2 ✝ 1.2 Ro. 1.8,9. Ef. 5.20. Damos siempre gracias á Dios por todos vosotros, haciendo ✝1.2 Fil. 1.3.memoria de vosotros en nuestras oraciones;

3 Sin cesar acordándonos delante del Dios y Padre nuestro de ✝1.3 Ga. 5.6. cp. 3.6la obra de vuestra fe, y del trabajo de amor, y de ✝1.3 Ro. 2.7.la tolerancia de la esperanza del ✝1.3 Col. 2.2.Señor nuestro Jesucristo:

4 Sabiendo, hermanos amados de Dios, ✝1.4 Col. 3.12.vuestra elección:

5 Por cuanto ✝1.5 1 Co. 2.4.nuestro evangelio no fué á vosotros en palabra solamente, mas también en potencia, y en Espíritu Santo, ✝1.5 Col. 2.2. He. 2.3.y en gran plenitud; como ✝1.5 cp. 2.10.sabéis cuáles fuimos entre vosotros por amor de vosotros.

6 Y vosotros fuisteis hechos imitadores de nosotros, y del Señor, ✝1.6 Hch. 17.5-10.recibiendo la palabra con mucha tribulación, ✝1.6 Hch. 13.52.con gozo del Espíritu Santo:

1 Exito del Evangelio

2 en Tesalónica.

7 En tal manera que habéis sido ✝1.7 cp. 4.10.ejemplo á todos los que han creído en ✝1.7 Hch. 19.21.Macedonia y en Acaya.

8 Porque de vosotros ha sido divulgada la palabra del Señor no sólo en Macedonia y en Acaya, mas aun ✝1.8 2 Ts. 1.4.en todo lugar vuestra fe en Dios se ha extendido; de modo que no tenemos necesidad de hablar nada.

9 Porque ellos cuentan de nosotros ✝1.9 cp. 2.1.cuál entrada tuvimos á vosotros; y ✝1.9 Hch. 15.19.cómo os convertisteis ✝1.9 1 Co. 12.2. Ga. 4.8.de los ídolos á Dios, para servir al ✝1.9 Hch. 14.15.Dios vivo y verdadero.

10 Y ✝1.10 1 Co. 1.7.esperar á su Hijo de los cielos, al cual resucitó de los muertos; á Jesús, ✝1.10 Col. 1.13.el cual nos libró ✝1.10 Mt. 3.7. cp. 5.9de la ira que ha de venir.
