1 Ihr Herren, was recht und gleich ist, das beweiset den Knechten und wisset, daß ihr auch einen HErrn im Himmel habt.

2 Haltet an am Gebet und wachet in demselbigen mit Danksagung!

3 Und betet zugleich auch für uns, auf daß GOtt uns die Tür des Worts auftue, zu reden das Geheimnis Christi, darum ich auch gebunden bin,

4 auf daß ich dasselbige offenbare, wie ich soll reden.

5 Wandelt weislich gegen die, die draußen sind, und schicket euch in die Zeit!

6 Eure Rede sei allezeit lieblich und mit Salz gewürzet, daß ihr wisset, wie ihr einem jeglichen antworten sollt.

7 Wie es um mich stehet, wird euch alles kundtun Tychikus, der liebe Bruder und getreue Diener und Mitknecht in dem HErrn,

8 welchen ich habe darum zu euch gesandt, daß er erfahre, wie es sich mit euch verhält, und daß er eure Herzen ermahne,

9 samt Onesimus, dem getreuen und lieben Bruder, welcher von den Euren ist. Alles, wie es hier zustehet, werden sie euch kundtun.

10 Es grüßet euch Aristarchus, mein Mitgefangener, und Markus, der Neffe Barnabas, von welchem ihr etliche Befehle empfangen habt (so er zu euch kommt, nehmet ihn auf);

11 Und Jesus, der da heißt Just, die aus der Beschneidung sind. Diese sind allein meine Gehilfen am Reich Gottes, die mir ein Trost worden sind.

12 Es grüßet euch Epaphras, der von den Euren ist, ein Knecht Christi, und allezeit ringet für euch mit Gebeten, auf daß ihr bestehet vollkommen und erfüllet mit allem Willen Gottes.

13 Ich gebe ihm Zeugnis, daß er großen Fleiß hat um euch und um die zu Laodicea und zu Hierapolis.

14 Es grüßet euch Lukas, der Arzt, der Geliebte, und Demas.

15 Grüßet die Brüder zu Laodicea und den, Nymphas und die Gemeinde in seinem Hause.

16 Und wenn der Brief bei euch gelesen ist, so schaffet, daß er auch in der Gemeinde zu Laodicea gelesen werde, und daß ihr den von Laodicea leset.

17 Und saget dem Archippus: Siehe auf das Amt, das du empfangen hast in dem HErrn, daß du dasselbige ausrichtest!

18 Mein Gruß mit meiner, des Paulus, Hand. Gedenket meiner Bande! Die Gnade sei mit euch! Amen.

1 Masters, render unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.

2 Continue stedfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving; 3 withal praying for us also, that God may open unto us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds; 4 that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. 5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. 6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer each one.

7 All my affairs shall Tychicus make known unto you, the beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow-servant in the Lord: 8 whom I have sent unto you for this very purpose, that ye may know our state, and that he may comfort your hearts; 9 together with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things that are done here.

10 Aristarchus my fellow-prisoner saluteth you, and Mark, the cousin of Barnabas (touching whom ye received commandments; if he come unto you, receive him), 11 and Jesus that is called Justus, who are of the circumcision: these only are my fellow-workers unto the kingdom of God, men that have been a comfort unto me. 12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, saluteth you, always striving for you in his prayers, that ye may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God. 13 For I bear him witness, that he hath much labor for you, and for them in Laodicea, and for them in Hierapolis. 14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas salute you. 15 Salute the brethren that are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church that is in their house. 16 And when this epistle hath been read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye also read the epistle from Laodicea. 17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
