1 Und ich hub meine Augen abermal auf und sah, und siehe, es war ein fliegender Brief.2 Und er sprach zu mir: Was siehest du? Ich aber sprach: Ich sehe einen fliegenden Brief, der ist zwanzig Ellen lang und zehn Ellen breit.3 Und er sprach zu mir: Das ist der Fluch, welcher ausgehet über das ganze Land; denn alle Diebe werden nach diesem Briefe fromm gesprochen, und alle Meineidigen werden nach diesem Briefe fromm gesprochen.4 Aber ich will‘s hervorbringen, spricht der HErr Zebaoth, daß es, soll kommen über das Haus des Diebes und über das Haus derer, die bei meinem Namen fälschlich schwören; und soll bleiben in ihrem Hause und soll‘s verzehren samt seinem Holz und Steinen.5 Und der Engel, der mit mir redete, ging heraus und sprach zu mir: Hebe deine Augen auf und siehe, was gehet da heraus?6 Und ich sprach: Was ist‘s? Er aber sprach: Ein Epha gehet heraus, und sprach: Das ist ihre Gestalt im ganzen Lande.7 Und siebe, es schwebte ein Zentner Blei; und da war ein Weib, das saß im Epha.8 Er aber sprach: Das ist die gottlose Lehre. Und er warf sie in den Epha und warf den Klumpen Blei oben aufs Loch.9 Und ich hub meine Augen auf und sah, und siehe, zwei Weiber gingen heraus und hatten Flügel, die der Wind trieb; es waren aber Flügel wie Storchflügel, und die führeten den Epha zwischen Erde und Himmel.10 Und ich sprach zum Engel, der mit mir redete: Wo führen die den Epha hin?11 Er aber sprach zu mir: Daß ihm ein Haus gebauet werde im Lande Sinear und bereitet und daselbst gesetzt werde auf seinen Boden.

A ka ki mai ia, Ko te epa tenei e puta nei. I ki mai ano ia, Ko to ratou ahua tenei i te whenua katoa:7 Na ko tetahi taranata mata kua oti te hapai ake: a he wahine tenei e noho nei i roto i te epa.8 Na ka ki ia, Ko te Kino tenei; na maka iho ana ia e ia ki roto ki te epa: a maka ana e ia te poro mata ki runga ki te ngutu o taua epa.9 Katahi ka maranga ake oku kanohi, ka kite, na ko nga wahine tokorua e puta mai ana, i roto hoki te hau i o raua parirau; ko o raua parirau hoki koia ano kei o te taka; a hapainga ake ana e raua te epa ki te takiwa o te whenua, o te rangi.10 Katahi ahau ka mea atu ki te anahera i korero ra ki ahau, E maua ana e enei te epa ki hea?11 A ka ki mai tera ki ahau, Hei hanga whare mona ki te whenua o Hinara: a ka pumau ki reira, ka whakaturia ki tona turanga.
