18 Wives, be subject to [your] own husbands, as is becoming in [the] Lord.

19 Husbands, love [your] wives, and do not be bitter against them.

9 And Onan knew that the seed would not be his. And it happened when he went in to his brother's wife, that he spilled on the ground, not giving seed to his brother.

10 And what he did was evil in the eyes of the LORD. Therefore He killed him also.

26 And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth.

27 And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female.

28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply and fill the earth, and subdue it. And have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the heavens, and all animals that move upon the earth.

24 And David comforted his wife Bathsheba. And he went in to her and lay with her. And she bore a son. And he called his name Solomon. And the LORD loved him.

7 They shall not take a wife [who is] a whore, or defiled. Neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband. For he [is] holy to his God.

3 Let the husband give to the wife proper kindness, and likewise the wife also to the husband.

4 The wife does not have authority over [her] own body, but the husband. And likewise also the husband does not have authority [over his] own body, but the wife.

14 And above all these things [put on] love, which is [the] bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you also are called in one body, and be thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17 And everything, whatever you do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of [the] Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and [the] Father by Him.

5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness (which is idolatry),

14 Houses and riches [are] the inheritance of fathers, and a prudent wife [is] from the LORD.

4 Marriage [is] honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

15 See [that] none gives evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue the good, both towards one another and towards all.

27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until [the] day that Noah entered into the ark; and the flood came and destroyed [them] all.

3 Your wife [shall be] like a fruitful vine by the sides of your house; your sons [shall be] like olive plants around your table.

17 And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.

18 And Pharaoh called Abram and said, What [is] this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she [is] your wife?

6 His left hand [is] under my head, and His right hand embraces me.

2 Contend! Contend with your mother, for she [is] not my wife, nor am I her husband. Let her therefore put away her fornications out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts,

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it,

26 that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word,

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits fornication sins against [his] own body.

19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, whom you have of God? And you are not your own,

20 for you are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept. And He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh underneath.

22 And the LORD God made the rib (which He had taken from the man) into a woman. And He brought her to the man.

23 And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. [She] shall be called Woman because [she] was taken out of man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall be one flesh.

2 For the married woman was bound by law to the living husband. But if the husband is dead, she is set free from the law of [her] husband.

3 So then [if], while [her] husband lives, she is married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, [so that] she is no adulteress by becoming another man's wife.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it,

26 that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word,

27 that He might present it to Himself [as] the glorious church, without spot or wrinkle or any such things, but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So men ought to love their wives as their [own] bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his [own] flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord loves the church.

30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.

14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; else your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.

10 for fornicators, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and anything else that is contrary to sound doctrine,

3 For let fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness not be once named among you, as becomes saints,

31 It was also said, Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a bill of divorce.

32 But I say to you that whoever shall put away his wife, except for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever shall marry her who is put away commits adultery.

1 Now Sarai, Abram's wife, did not bear. And she had a female slave, an Egyptian, and her name [was] Hagar.

2 And Sarai said to Abram, Behold now, the LORD has kept me from bearing. I pray you, go in to my slave woman. It may be that I may be built by her. And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

3 And Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar her slave woman, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife (after Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan).

4 Charity has patience, is kind; charity is not envious, is not vain, is not puffed up;

5 does not behave indecently, does not seek her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil.

6 Charity does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth,

7 quietly covers all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

2 But, because of the fornications, let each have his [own] wife, and let each have her own husband.

8 I say therefore to the unmarried and the widows, It is good for them if they remain even as I.

9 But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn.

10 And to the married I command (not I, but the Lord), a woman not to be separated from [her] husband.

11 But if she is indeed separated, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to [her] husband. And a husband is not to leave [his] wife.

21 And Abijah became mighty, and married fourteen wives, and fathered twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.

6 Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

19 Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness,

20 idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies,

21 envyings, murders, drunkennesses, revelings, and things like these; of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

4 And He answered and said to them, Have you not read that He who made [them] at the beginning made them male and female,

5 and said, For this cause a man shall leave father and mother and shall cling to his wife, and the two of them shall be one flesh?

6 Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

36 So says the Lord Jehovah: Because your lewdness was poured out and your nakedness was bared in your fornications with your lovers, and with all the idols of your abominations, and by the blood of your sons whom you gave to them;

37 behold, therefore I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have been pleased, even all [whom] you loved, with all whom you have hated; I will even gather them against you from all around, and will uncover your nakedness to them, and they will see all your nakedness.

8 When you are invited by anyone to a wedding, do not recline in the chief seat, lest a more honorable [man] than you may be invited by him.

21 And they did not repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

1 Rejoice, O unfruitful one [that] never bore; break out a song and shout, [you] who never travailed. For more [are] the sons of the desolate than the sons of the married woman, says the LORD.

28 So men ought to love their wives as their [own] bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his [own] flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord loves the church.

30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.

5 When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any duty. He shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife whom he has taken.

1 And Adam knew Eve his wife. And she conceived and bore Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

25 And Adam knew his wife again. And she bore a son, and called his name Seth. For she said, God has appointed me another seed instead of Abel, because Cain killed him.

22 [Whoever] finds a wife finds good and gets favor from the LORD.

2 Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth; for Your love [is] better than wine.

22 Wives, submit yourselves to [your] own husbands, as to the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ [is] the head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in everything.

3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification, for you to abstain from fornication,

4 each one of you to know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor

5 (not in the passion of lust, even as the nations who do not know God),

3 Let the husband give to the wife proper kindness, and likewise the wife also to the husband.

4 The wife does not have authority over [her] own body, but the husband. And likewise also the husband does not have authority [over his] own body, but the wife.

5 Do not deprive one another, unless [it is] with consent for a time, so that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer. And come together again so that Satan does not tempt you for your incontinence.

13 If any man takes a wife and goes in to her, and hates her,

14 and makes shameful charges against her, and brings up an evil name on her, and says, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I did not find in her the tokens of virginity,

15 then shall the father of the girl, and her mother, take and bring tokens of the girl's virginity to the elders of the city in the gate.

16 And the girl's father shall say to the elders, I gave my daughter to this man to wife, and he hates her.

17 And, lo, he has made shameful charges [against her], saying, I have not found in your daughter the tokens of virginity. And yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.

18 Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice with the wife of your youth.

19 [Like] the loving deer and pleasant doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times, and be ravished always with her love.

14 And above all these things [put on] love, which is [the] bond of perfectness.

36 And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of [the] tribe of Asher. She was advanced in many days, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity.

29 So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife; whoever touches her shall not be innocent.

9 [It is] better to dwell in a corner of the housetop than [with] a quarrelsome woman and to share a house.

29 And everyone who left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

4 And they said, Moses allowed a bill of divorce to be written, and to put [her] away.

5 And Jesus answered and said to them, He wrote you this precept because of the hardness of your hearts.

6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

7 For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife.

8 And the two of them shall be one flesh. So then they are no longer two, but one flesh.

9 Therefore what God has joined together, let not man put apart.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall be one flesh.

25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife; and they were not ashamed.

10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul will be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me [with] the robes of salvation, He covered me with the robe of righteousness like a bridegroom adorns [himself] with ornaments, and like a bride adorns [herself] with her jewels.

5 Your two breasts [are] like two fawns, twins of a gazelle, feeding among the lilies.

9 You have ravished My heart, My sister, [My] spouse; you have ravished My heart with one of your eyes, with one chain of your neck.

28 So men ought to love their wives as their [own] bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

7 You [are] all fair, My love; no blemish [is] in you.

9 A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.

29 This [is] the law of jealousies when a woman goes aside, being under her husband, and is defiled.

30 Or when the spirit of jealousy comes on a man, and he is jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.

6 if anyone is blameless, husband of one wife, having believing children, not accused of loose behavior, or disobedient.

27 You have heard that it was said to the ancients, You shall not commit adultery.

28 But I say to you that whoever looks on a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

6 Set me as a seal on Your heart, as a seal on Your arm; for love [is] strong as death. Jealousy [is] cruel as the grave; its flames [are] flames of fire, a flame of Jehovah.

7 Many waters cannot quench love, nor will the rivers overflow it. If [a] man would give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be scorned.

14 Turn, O backsliding sons, says the LORD; for I am married to you; and I will take you one from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.

1 Now concerning what you wrote to me: [It is] good for a man not to touch a woman.

2 But, because of the fornications, let each have his [own] wife, and let each have her own husband.

32 But I desire you to be without anxiety. The [one] who is unmarried cares for the things that belong to [the] Lord, how to please the Lord.

33 But the [one] who is married cares for the things of the world, how to please [his] wife.

34 The wife and the virgin [are] different. The unmarried woman cares for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares for the things of the world, how she may please [her husband.

4 A woman of virtue [is] a crown to her husband, but she who causes shame [is] like rottenness in his bones.

7 Likewise, husbands, live together according to knowledge, giving honor to the wife as to the weaker vessel, the female, as truly [being] co-heirs together of [the] grace of life, not cutting off your prayers.

31 For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two of them shall be one flesh.

13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.

14 He shall not take a widow or a divorced woman, or profane, [or] a harlot, but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.

31 For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two of them shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

33 But also let everyone of you in particular so love his wife even as himself, and the wife that she defers to her husband.

8 You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife. It [is] your father's nakedness.

20 And you shall not lie carnally with your neighbor's wife, to defile yourself with her.

22 Wives, submit yourselves to [your] own husbands, as to the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ [is] the head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.

18 And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.

13 Meats for the belly and the belly for meats, but God shall destroy both it and them. But the body [is] not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord is for the body.

14 And God has both raised up the Lord, and also will raise us up by His own power.

10 And a man who commits adultery with a man's wife, who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

13 If a man also lies with mankind, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood [shall be] on them.

9 Look [on] life with the wife whom you love all the days of the life of your vanity, which He has given you under the sun, all the days of your vanity. For that [is] your share in [this life, and in your labor which you labor under the sun.

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit [the] kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals,

10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit [the] kingdom of God.

9 Two [are] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labor.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him [who is] alone when he falls, for he does not have another to help him.

11 Again, if two lie [together], then they have warmth; but how can one be warm [alone] ?

12 And if one overthrows him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

10 And He said, I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and lo, Sarah your wife [shall have] a son. And Sarah heard in the tent door which was behind Him.

11 Now Abraham and Sarah [were] old, far gone in days, and it had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After my being old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?

10 Who can find a woman of virtue? For her value [is] far above rubies.

2 For true and righteous [are] His judgments. For He has judged the great harlot who defiled the earth with her fornication, and He has avenged the blood of His servants out of her hand.

2 The beginning of the LORD speaking by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take to yourself a wife of adultery and children of adultery. For the land has utterly gone lusting away from the LORD.

17 You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that [is] your neighbor's.

2 Then it behooves the overseer to be without reproach, husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, well-ordered, hospitable, apt at teaching,

12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling [their] children and households well.

32 Whoever commits adultery [with] a woman lacks understanding; he [who] does it destroys his own soul.

33 But also let everyone of you in particular so love his wife even as himself, and the wife that she defers to her husband.

20 But I have a few things against you because you allow that woman Jezebel to teach, she saying herself [to be] a prophetess, and to cause My servants to go astray, and to commit fornication, and to eat idol-sacrifices.

10 And bending back up, and seeing no one but the woman, Jesus said to her, Woman, where are the ones who accused you? Did not one give judgment against you?

11 And she said, No one, Lord. And Jesus said to her, Neither do I give judgment. Go, and sin no more.

7 Many waters cannot quench love, nor will the rivers overflow it. If [a] man would give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be scorned.

24 saying, Master, Moses said, If a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up seed to his brother.

30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in Heaven.

39 The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband lives, but if her husband sleeps in death, she is at liberty to be remarried to whom she will, only in the Lord.

1 On the whole it is reported [that there is] fornication among you, and such fornication as is not even named among the nations, so as one to have [his] father's wife.

2 And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, so that he who has done this deed may be taken from your midst.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall be one flesh.

1 When a man has taken a wife and married her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes, because he has found some uncleanness in her, then let him write her a bill of divorce and put it] in her hand, and send her out of his house.

15 And did He not make [you] one? Yet the vestige of the Spirit [is in] him. And what [of] the one? He was seeking a godly seed. Then guard your spirit, and do not act treacherously with the wife of your youth.

16 The LORD, the God of Israel, says He hates sending away; and to cover [with] violence on his garment, says the LORD of hosts. Then guard your spirit, and do not act treacherously.

5 and said, For this cause a man shall leave father and mother and shall cling to his wife, and the two of them shall be one flesh?

6 Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

12 And if a woman shall put away her husband and marries to another, she commits adultery.

14 Do not be unequally yoked together [with] unbelievers; for what fellowship does righteousness [have] with lawlessness? And what partnership does light [have] with darkness?

14 You shall not commit adultery.
