1 Josué já era bem idoso e o Senhor lhe disse:

— Você já é bem idoso, e ainda ficou muita terra para ser conquistada. 2 Esta é a terra ainda não conquistada: todas as regiões dos filisteus e toda a Gesur; 3 desde Sior, que está diante do Egito, até o limite de Ecrom, para o norte, que se considera como dos cananeus; cinco governantes dos filisteus: o de Gaza, o de Asdode, o de Asquelom, o de Gate e o de Ecrom; e os aveus, 4 ao sul, além de toda a terra dos cananeus e Meara, que é dos sidônios, até Afeca, na fronteira dos amorreus; 5 e ainda a terra dos gibleus e todo o Líbano, para o leste, desde Baal-Gade, ao pé do monte Hermom, até a entrada de Hamate; 6 todos os que habitam nas montanhas desde o Líbano até Misrefote-Maim, todos os sidônios. Eu os expulsarei de diante dos filhos de Israel; reparta, pois, a terra por herança a Israel, como ordenei a você. 7 Distribua, agora, a terra por herança às nove tribos e à meia tribo de Manassés.

8 Com a outra meia tribo, os rubenitas e os gaditas já receberam a sua herança do outro lado do Jordão, para o leste, como já lhes tinha dado Moisés, servo do Senhor. 9 Começando com Aroer, que está à borda do vale de Arnom, mais a cidade que está no meio do vale, todo o planalto de Medeba até Dibom; 10 e todas as cidades de Seom, rei dos amorreus, que reinou em Hesbom, até a fronteira dos filhos de Amom. 11 E Gileade, o território dos gesuritas, o dos maacatitas, todo o monte Hermom e toda a Basã até Salca; 12 todo o reino de Ogue, em Basã, que reinou em Astarote e em Edrei, que ficou do resto dos refains, o qual Moisés derrotou e expulsou. 13 Porém os filhos de Israel não expulsaram os gesuritas, nem os maacatitas; pelo contrário, Gesur e Maacate permaneceram no meio de Israel até o dia de hoje.

14 Foi somente à tribo de Levi que Moisés não deu herança; as ofertas queimadas do Senhor, Deus de Israel, são a sua herança, como já lhe tinha dito.

15 Moisés deu herança à tribo dos filhos de Rúben, segundo as suas famílias, 16 começando o seu território com Aroer, que está à borda do vale de Arnom, mais a cidade que está no meio do vale e todo o planalto até Medeba; 17 Hesbom e todas as suas cidades, que estão no planalto: Dibom, Bamote-Baal e Bete-Baal-Meom, 18 Jaza, Quedemote, Mefaate; 19 Quiriataim, Sibma, Zerete-Saar, no monte do vale; 20 Bete-Peor, as encostas do monte Pisga e Bete-Jesimote; 21 e todas as cidades do planalto e todo o reino de Seom, rei dos amorreus, que reinou em Hesbom, a quem Moisés derrotou, bem como os príncipes de Midiã, Evi, Requém, Zur, Hur e Reba, príncipes de Seom, moradores da terra. 22 Além de outros que foram mortos, os filhos de Israel também mataram à espada Balaão, filho de Beor, o adivinho. 23 A fronteira dos filhos de Rúben é o Jordão e suas imediações; esta é a herança dos filhos de Rúben, segundo as suas famílias: as cidades com suas aldeias.

24 Moisés deu herança à tribo de Gade, a saber, a seus filhos, segundo as suas famílias. 25 O seu território incluía Jazer, todas as cidades de Gileade e metade da terra dos filhos de Amom, até Aroer, que está diante de Rabá; 26 desde Hesbom até Ramate-Mispa e Betonim; e desde Maanaim até o limite de Debir; 27 e, no vale: Bete-Arã, Bete-Ninra, Sucote e Zafom, o resto do reino de Seom, rei de Hesbom, mais o Jordão e suas imediações, até a extremidade do mar de Quinerete, do outro lado do Jordão, na direção do leste. 28 Esta é a herança dos filhos de Gade, segundo as suas famílias: as cidades com as suas aldeias.

29 Moisés também deu herança à meia tribo de Manassés, segundo as suas famílias. 30 O seu território começava com Maanaim e incluía todo o Basã, todo o reino de Ogue, rei de Basã, e todas as aldeias de Jair, que estão em Basã, sessenta cidades; 31 e metade de Gileade, Astarote e Edrei, cidades do reino de Ogue, em Basã. Estas foram dadas aos filhos de Maquir, filho de Manassés, a saber, à metade dos filhos de Maquir, segundo as suas famílias.

32 São estas as heranças que Moisés repartiu nas campinas de Moabe, do outro lado do Jordão, na altura de Jericó, para o leste. 33 Porém à tribo de Levi Moisés não deu herança; o Senhor, Deus de Israel, é a sua herança, como já lhe tinha dito.

1 Now Joshua was old and well stricken in years; and Jehovah said unto him, Thou art old and well stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed. 2 This is the land that yet remaineth: all the regions of the Philistines, and all the Geshurites; 3 from the Shihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the border of Ekron northward, which is reckoned to the Canaanites; the five lords of the Philistines; the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avvim, 4 on the south; all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongeth to the Sidonians, unto Aphek, to the border of the Amorites; 5 and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baal-gad under mount Hermon unto the entrance of Hamath; 6 all the inhabitants of the hill-country from Lebanon unto Misrephoth-maim, even all the Sidonians; them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only allot thou it unto Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee. 7 Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

8 With him the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of Jehovah gave them: 9 from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon; 10 and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon; 11 and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salecah; 12 all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (the same was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for these did Moses smite, and drove them out. 13 Nevertheless the children of Israel drove not out the Geshurites, nor the Maacathites: but Geshur and Maacath dwell in the midst of Israel unto this day. 14 Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance; the offerings of Jehovah, the God of Israel, made by fire are his inheritance, as he spake unto him.

15 And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families. 16 And their border was from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain by Medeba; 17 Heshbon, and all its cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon, 18 and Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath, 19 and Kiriathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar in the mount of the valley, 20 and Beth-peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth, 21 and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the chiefs of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon, that dwelt in the land. 22 Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among the rest of their slain. 23 And the border of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and the border thereof. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

24 And Moses gave unto the tribe of Gad, unto the children of Gad, according to their families. 25 And their border was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah; 26 and from Heshbon unto Ramath-mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir; 27 and in the valley, Beth-haram, and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and the border thereof, unto the uttermost part of the sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward. 28 This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

29 And Moses gave inheritance unto the half-tribe of Manasseh: and it was for the half-tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families. 30 And their border was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, threescore cities: 31 and half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the children of Machir according to their families.

32 These are the inheritances which Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan at Jericho, eastward. 33 But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance: Jehovah, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he spake unto them.
