Lucas 14

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath

1 It happened that when He went into the house of one of the *14:1 I.e., members of the Sanhedrinleaders of the Pharisees on the Sabbath to eat bread, they were watching Him *14:1 Or maliciouslyclosely. 2 And *14:2 Lit beholdthere in front of Him was a man suffering from *14:2 I.e., extreme swellingedema. 3 And Jesus responded and said to the *14:3 I.e., experts in Mosaic Lawlawyers and *14:3 Lit Pharisees, sayingPharisees, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?"4 But they kept silent. And He took hold of him and healed him, and sent him away.
