7 When they had come opposite Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.


11 For I know the plans that I have for you,' says the Lord, 'plans for your welfare, and not for calamity, to give you hope and a future.


1 Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,


31 Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.


5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.


5 In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, "Ask what I shall give you."

6 Solomon said, "You have shown to your servant David my father great loving kindness, according as he walked before you in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with you. You have kept for him this great loving kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

7 Now, Lord my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father. I am but a little child. I do not know how to go out or come in.

8 Your servant is in the midst of your people which you have chosen, a great people, that can't be numbered nor counted for multitude.

9 Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this your great people?"

10 The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.

11 God said to him, "Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life, neither have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice;

12 behold, I have done according to your word. Behold, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart; so that there has been none like you before you, neither after you shall any arise like you.


5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,and do not lean on your own understanding.

6 In all your ways acknowledge him,and he will make your paths straight.


16 Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,


14 Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls,but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.


1 Now in the church that was at Antioch there were some prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

2 As they served the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, "Separate Barnabas and Saul for me, for the work to which I have called them."

3 Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.


33 The lot is cast into the lap,but its every decision is from the Lord.

14 This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.


1 An unfriendly man pursues selfishness,and defies all sound judgment.

2 A fool has no delight in understanding,but only in revealing his own opinion.

3 When wickedness comes, contempt also comes,and with shame comes disgrace.

4 The words of a man's mouth are like deep waters.The fountain of wisdom is like a flowing brook.

5 To be partial to the faces of the wicked is not good,nor to deprive the innocent of justice.

6 A fool's lips come into strife,and his mouth invites beatings.

7 A fool's mouth is his destruction,and his lips are a snare to his soul.

8 The words of a gossip are like dainty morsels:they go down into a person's innermost parts.

9 One who is slack in his workis brother to him who is a master of destruction.

10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower:the righteous run to him, and are safe.

11 The rich man's wealth is his strong city,like an unscalable wall in his own imagination.

12 Before destruction the heart of man is proud,but before honor is humility.

13 He who gives answer before he hears,that is folly and shame to him.

14 A man's spirit will sustain him in sickness,but a crushed spirit, who can bear?


17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.


9 Then his wife said to him, "Do you still maintain your integrity? Renounce God, and die."

10 But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?"In all this Job did not sin with his lips.


9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
