1 We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds.2 You say, "I choose the appointed time; it is I who judge with equity.3 When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm. [^1]4 To the arrogant I say, 'Boast no more,' and to the wicked, 'Do not lift up your horns. [^2]5 Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak so defiantly.'"6 No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt themselves.7 It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.8 In the hand of the LORD is a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices; he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to its very dregs.9 As for me, I will declare this forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob,10 who says, "I will cut off the horns of all the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up."
1 To you, O God, do we give thanks, to you do we give thanks: for that your name is near your wondrous works declare.2 When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.4 I said to the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.6 For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.7 But God is the judge: he puts down one, and sets up another.8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he pours out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
