17pray continually,

23May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Hear this word, people of Israel, the word the Lord has spoken against you—against the whole family I brought up out of Egypt:

19When a man finds his enemy, does he let him get away unharmed? May the Lord reward you well for the way you treated me today.

13Rend your heartand not your garments.Return to the Lord your God,for he is gracious and compassionate,slow to anger and abounding in love,and he relents from sending calamity.

14Who knows? He may turn and relentand leave behind a blessing—grain offerings and drink offeringsfor the Lord your God.

21Do not be afraid, land of Judah;be glad and rejoice.Surely the Lord has done great things!

12May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge."

13Lord, you are the hope of Israel;all who forsake you will be put to shame.Those who turn away from you will be written in the dustbecause they have forsaken the Lord,the spring of living water.

16I have not run away from being your shepherd;you know I have not desired the day of despair.What passes my lips is open before you.

18Let my persecutors be put to shame,but keep me from shame;let them be terrified,but keep me from terror.Bring on them the day of disaster;destroy them with double destruction.

1I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit—

4the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises.
