3 For this is *(Rom. 12:2)the will of God, *Eph. 5:27your sanctification: *(1 Cor. 6:15–20; Col. 3:5)that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 *Rom. 6:19that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 *Col. 3:5not in passion of lust, *Eph. 4:17, 18like the Gentiles *1 Cor. 15:34who do not know God; 6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord *2 Thess. 1:8is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. 7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, *Lev. 11:44; (Heb. 12:14); 1 Pet. 1:14–16but in holiness.
