I will not turn away its punishment,
Because he 2 Kin. 3:26, 27burned the bones of the king of Edom to lime.
2 But I will send a fire upon Moab,
And it shall devour the palaces of Jer. 48:24, 41Kerioth;
Moab shall die with tumult,
With shouting and trumpet sound.
3 And I will cut off Num. 24:17; Jer. 48:7the judge from its midst,
And slay all its princes with him,"

And have not kept His commandments.
Is. 9:15, 16; 28:15; Jer. 16:19; Hab. 2:18Their lies lead them astray,
LiesJer. 9:14; 16:11, 12; Ezek. 20:13, 16, 18which their fathers followed.

Judgment on Israel

"For three transgressions of Judg. 2:17–20; 2 Kin. 17:7–18; 18:12; Ezek. 22:1–13, 23–29Israel, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because Is. 29:21they sell the righteous for silver,
And the Joel 3:3; Amos 4:1; 5:11; 8:6; Mic. 2:2; 3:3poor for a pair of sandals.
7 They pant after the dust of the earth whichis on the head of the poor,
And Amos 5:12pervert the way of the humble.
Lev. 18:6–8; Ezek. 22:11A man and his father go in to the same girl,
Lev. 20:3; Ezek. 36:20–22To defile My holy name.
8 They lie down 1 Cor. 8:10by every altar on clothes Ex. 22:26taken in pledge,
And drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.
9 "Yet itwas I who destroyed the Gen. 15:16; Num. 21:25; Deut. 2:31; Josh. 10:12Amorite before them,
Whose height was like the Ezek. 31:3height of the cedars,
And he wasas strong as the oaks;
Yet I Is. 5:24; Ezek. 17:9; (Mal. 4:1)destroyed his fruit above
And his roots beneath.
10 Also itwasEx. 12:51; Amos 3:1; 9:7I who brought you up from the land of Egypt,
And Deut. 2:7led you forty years through the wilderness,
To possess the land of the Amorite.
11 I raised up some of your sons as Num. 12:6prophets,
And some of your young men as Num. 6:2, 3; Judg. 13:5Nazirites.
Isit not so, O you children of Israel?"
Says the Lord.
12 "But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink,
And commanded the prophets Is. 30:10; Jer. 11:21; Amos 7:13, 16; Mic. 2:6saying,
‘Do not prophesy!’
13 "Behold,Is. 1:14 I am weighed down by you,
As a cart full of sheaves is weighed down.
14 Jer. 46:6Therefore flight shall perish from the swift,
The strong shall not strengthen his power,
Ps. 33:16; Jer. 9:23Nor shall the mighty deliver himself;
15 He shall not stand who handles the bow,
The swift of foot shall not escape,
Nor shall he who rides a horse deliver himself.
16 The most courageous men of might
Shall flee naked in that day,"
Says the Lord.
