16 "Then I commanded your judges at that time, saying, ‘Hear thecases between your brethren, and *Deut. 16:18; John 7:24judge righteously between a man and his *Lev. 24:22brother or the stranger who is with him. 17 *Lev. 19:15; Deut. 10:17; 16:19; 24:17; 1 Sam. 16:7; Prov. 24:23–26; Acts 10:34; James 2:1, 9You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid in any man’s presence, for *2 Chr. 19:6the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, *Ex. 18:22, 26bring to me, and I will hear it.’
