11 Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see53:11 Masoretic Text; Dead Sea Scroll he shall see light and be satisfied;
by his knowledge shall [1 John 2:1] the righteous one, my servant,
Acts 13:39;Rom. 5:18,19make many to be accounted righteous,
[ver. 5]and he shall bear their iniquities.

11 As a result of the 53:11 Or troubleanguish of His soul,
He will 53:11 DSS see light; LXX also has lightsee it and be satisfied;

my righteous 53:11 1Jn 2:1 servant 53:11 Is 42:1 will justify many, 53:11 Ac 13:39; Rm 5:18–19

11 Because his soul hath laboured, he shall see and be filled: by his knowledge shall this my just servant justify many, and he shall bear their iniquities.
11,12 Out of that terrible travail of soul,
he’ll see that it’s worth it and be glad he did it.
Through what he experienced, my righteous one, my servant,
will make many "righteous ones,"
as he himself carries the burden of their sins.
Therefore I’ll reward him extravagantly—
the best of everything, the highest honors—
Because he looked death in the face and didn’t flinch,
because he embraced the company of the lowest.
He took on his own shoulders the sin of the many,
he took up the cause of all the black sheep.
