A Man Born Blind Receives Sight

1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, *Luke 13:2; John 9:34; Acts 28:4who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"

3 Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned, *John 11:4but that the works of God should be revealed in him.4 *(John 4:34; 5:19, 36; 17:4)I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is *John 11:9, 10; 12:35; Gal. 6:10day; the night is coming when no one can work.5 As long as I am in the world, *(John 1:5, 9; 3:19; 8:12; 12:35, 46)I am the light of the world."

6 When He had said these things, *Mark 7:33; 8:23He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, "Go, wash *Neh. 3:15; Is. 8:6; Luke 13:4; John 9:11in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So *2 Kin. 5:14he went and washed, and came back seeing.
