Is not this written in the book of Jasher?    12 On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel:

   "Sun, stand still over Gibeon,

   and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon."

   13 So the sun stood still,

   and the moon stopped,

   till the nation avenged itself on*10:13 Or nation triumphed over its enemies,

   as it is written in the Book of Jashar.

   The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. 14 There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel!

   12 At that time Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel,

   13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped,

   until the nation took vengeance on their enemies.

   Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day. 14 *Isa. 38:8;[2 Kgs. 20:11] There has been no day like it before or since, when the Lord heeded the voice of a man, for *ver. 42;ch. 23:3,10the Lord fought for Israel.

   12 On the day the Lord gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the Lord in front of all the people of Israel. He said,

   "Let the sun stand still over Gibeon,

   and the moon over the valley of Aijalon."

   13 So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies.

   Is this event not recorded in The Book of Jashar*10:13a Or The Book of the Upright.? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day.*10:13b Or did not set for about a whole day.14 There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the Lord answered such a prayer. Surely the Lord fought for Israel that day!

   12,13 The day God gave the Amorites up to Israel, Joshua spoke to God, with all Israel listening:

   "Stop, Sun, over Gibeon;

   Halt, Moon, over Aijalon Valley."

   And Sun stopped,

   Moon stood stock still

   Until he defeated his enemies.

   13,14 (You can find this written in the Book of Jashar.) The sun stopped in its tracks in mid sky; just sat there all day. There’s never been a day like that before or since—God took orders from a human voice! Truly, God fought for Israel.
