Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ

13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, *Mark 8:27; Luke 9:18"Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?"

14 So they said, *Matt. 14:2; Luke 9:7–9"Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or *Matt. 21:11one of the prophets."

15 He said to them, "But who do *John 6:67you say that I am?"

16 Simon Peter answered and said, *Matt. 14:33; Mark 8:29; Luke 9:20; John 6:69; 11:27; Acts 8:37; 9:20; Heb. 1:2, 5; 1 John 4:15"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
