Praise to God for His Word and Providence

1 Praise the Lord!

For *Ex. 15:18; Ps. 10:16; (Rev. 11:15)itis good to sing praises to our God;

*Ps. 92:1For itis pleasant, and*Ps. 135:3praise is beautiful.

2 The Lord*Ps. 33:1builds up Jerusalem;

*Ps. 102:16He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.

3 *Deut. 30:3; Is. 11:12; 56:8; Ezek. 39:28He heals the brokenhearted

And binds up their wounds.

4 *(Ps. 51:17); Is. 61:1; Luke 4:18He counts the number of the stars;

He calls them all by name.

5 *Is. 40:26Great is our Lord, and *Ps. 48:1mighty in power;

*Nah. 1:3His understanding is infinite.

6 *Is. 40:28The Lord lifts up the humble;

He casts the wicked down to the ground.

7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;

Sing praises on the harp to our God,

8 *Ps. 146:8, 9Who covers the heavens with clouds,

Who prepares rain for the earth,

Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.

9 *Job 38:26; Ps. 104:13He gives to the beast its food,

And*Job 38:41to the young ravens that cry.

10 *(Matt. 6:26)He does not delight in the strength of the horse;

He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him,

In those who hope in His mercy.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem!

Praise your God, O Zion!

13 For He has strengthened the bars of your gates;

He has blessed your children within you.

14 *Ps. 33:16, 17He makes peace in your borders,

And*Is. 54:13; 60:17, 18fills you with the finest wheat.

15 *Ps. 132:15He sends out His command tothe earth;

His word runs very swiftly.

16 *(Ps. 107:20)He gives snow like wool;

He scatters the frost like ashes;

17 He casts out His hail like morsels;

Who can stand before His cold?

18 *Job 37:6He sends out His word and melts them;

He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 *Job 37:10He declares His word to Jacob,

*Deut. 33:4; Ps. 103:7His statutes and His judgments to Israel.

20 *Mal. 4:4He has not dealt thus with any nation;

And asforHis judgments, they have not known them.
