1 Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. 2 These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.4:2 Greek are seared.
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.
1 Now See John 14:17the Spirit expressly says that [2 Thess. 2:3-9;2 Tim. 3:1]; See 1 Cor. 11:19in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to 1 John 4:6(Gk.);See Matt. 7:15deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 through the insincerity of [1 Thess. 2:3;2 Thess. 2:11]liars whose consciences are seared,
1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed 2 Tim. 3:13; Rev. 16:14to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 Matt. 7:15speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience Eph. 4:19seared with a hot iron,
1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will 4:1 I.e., apostatizefall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,
1 Now the Spirit 4:1 Jn 14:17; 16:13; Ac 20:23; 21:11; 1Co 2:10–11 explicitly says that in later times 4:1 2Th 2:3–9; 2Tm 3:1; 2Pt 3:3; Jd 18 some will depart from the faith, 4:1 Php 1:27; 1Tm 1:2; Jd 3 paying attention to deceitful spirits 4:1 Mt 7:15; 1Jn 4:6 and the teachings of demons, 4:1 Jms 3:152 through the hypocrisy 4:2 Mk 12:15 of liars whose consciences 4:2 Heb 13:18 are seared.
1 Now the Spirit manifestly saith, that in the last times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to spirits of error, and doctrines of devils, 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy, and having their conscience seared,
1-5 The Spirit makes it clear that as time goes on, some are going to give up on the faith and chase after demonic illusions put forth by professional liars. These liars have lied so well and for so long that they’ve lost their capacity for truth. They will tell you not to get married. They’ll tell you not to eat this or that food—perfectly good food God created to be eaten heartily and with thanksgiving by believers who know better! Everything God created is good, and to be received with thanks. Nothing is to be sneered at and thrown out. God’s Word and our prayers make every item in creation holy.
