1 Now, dear brothers and sisters,2:1 Greek brothers; also in 2:13, 15. let us clarify some things about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered to meet him. 2 Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us.
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.
1 Now concerning See 1 Thess. 2:19the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our [Matt. 24:31;1 Thess. 4:15-17]being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers,2:1 Or brothers and sisters; also verses 13, 152 not to be quickly shaken in mind or Matt. 24:6;Mark 13:7alarmed, either [1 John 4:1] by a spirit or a ver. 15;[1 Thess. 5:2] spoken word, or ver. 15;[1 Thess. 5:2] a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that See 1 Cor. 1:8the day of the Lord has come.

1 And we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of our gathering together unto him: 2 That you be not easily moved from your sense, nor be terrified, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by epistle, as sent from us, as if the day of the Lord were at hand.
1-3 Now, friends, read these next words carefully. Slow down and don’t go jumping to conclusions regarding the day when our Master, Jesus Christ, will come back and we assemble to welcome him. Don’t let anyone shake you up or get you excited over some breathless report or rumored letter from me that the day of the Master’s arrival has come and gone. Don’t fall for any line like that.
