1 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.
5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
1 ch. 2:12If then you have been raised with Christ, seek [Phil. 3:14] the things that are above, where Christ is, See Eph. 1:20seated at the right hand of God. 2 See Matt. 16:23Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
5 Rom. 8:13;[Gal. 5:24] Put to death therefore Rom. 6:13what is earthly in you:3:5 Greek therefore your members that are on the earthSee Eph. 5:3,5sexual immorality, impurity, Rom. 1:26passion, evil desire, and covetousness, [Job 31:25,26]which is idolatry.
1 If then you were Rom. 6:5; Eph. 2:6; Col. 2:12raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, Ps. 68:18; 110:1; (Rom. 8:34); Eph. 1:20where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the (Matt. 6:19–21)earth.
5 (Rom. 8:13)Therefore put to death (Rom. 6:13)your members which are on the earth: Eph. 5:3fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, Mark 7:21; 1 Cor. 6:9, 18; 2 Cor. 12:21; Gal. 5:19; Eph. 4:19; 5:3, 5which is idolatry.
1 Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 3:2 Or Be intent onSet your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth.
5 Therefore, 3:5 Lit put to death the parts of your body which are upon the earthtreat the parts of your earthly body as dead to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which 3:5 Lit isamounts to idolatry.
1 So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 3:1 Heb 10:122 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3:2 Php 3:19
5 Therefore, put to death what belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, 3:5 1Th 4:3,7 lust, 3:5 Rm 1:26; 1Th 4:5 evil desire, and greed, 3:5 Eph 5:3 which is idolatry. 3:5 1Co 10:14; Gl 5:20; 1Pt 4:3
1 Therefore, if you be risen with Christ, seek the things that are above; where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God: 2 Mind the things that are above, not the things that are upon the earth. 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, lust, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is the service of idols.
1,2 So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.
5-8 And that means killing off everything connected with that way of death: sexual promiscuity, impurity, lust, doing whatever you feel like whenever you feel like it, and grabbing whatever attracts your fancy. That’s a life shaped by things and feelings instead of by God. It’s because of this kind of thing that God is about to explode in anger. It wasn’t long ago that you were doing all that stuff and not knowing any better. But you know better now, so make sure it’s all gone for good: bad temper, irritability, meanness, profanity, dirty talk.
