30 Jesus said, "How can I describe the Kingdom of God? What story should I use to illustrate it?31 It is like a mustard seed planted in the ground. It is the smallest of all seeds,32 but it becomes the largest of all garden plants; it grows long branches, and birds can make nests in its shade."
30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: 32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
30 Again he said, "What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it?31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth.32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade."
30 For ver. 30-32, see Matt. 13:31,32;Luke 13:18,19And he said, "With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it?31 It is like Matt. 17:20;Luke 17:6a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth,32 yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade."
30 Then He said, Matt. 13:31, 32; Luke 13:18, 19; (Acts 2:41; 4:4; 5:14; 19:20)"To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it?31 It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth;32 but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade."
30 And He was saying, "How shall we 4:30 Lit comparepicture the kingdom of God, or by what parable shall we present it?31 It is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the soil, though it is the smallest of all the seeds that are upon the soil,32 yet when it is sown, it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants, and forms large branches, with the result that the birds of the sky can nest under its shade."
30 And 4:30–34 Mt 13:31–35; Lk 13:18–21 he said, "With what can we compare the kingdom of God, 4:30 Mk 1:15or what parable 4:30 Mk 12:1can we use to describe it?31 It’s like a mustard seed 4:31 Mt 17:20; Lk 17:6that, when sown upon the soil, is the smallest of all the seeds on the ground.32 And when sown, 4:32 Gl 6:7it comes up and grows taller than all the garden plants, 4:32 Lk 11:42and produces large branches, so that the birds of the sky 4:32 Mt 24:35; Lk 12:33; Ac 17:24; Eph 6:9; Rv 21:10can nest in its shade."
30 And he said: To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? or to what parable shall we compare it? 31 It is as a grain of mustard seed: which when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that are in the earth: 32 And when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches, so that the birds of the air may dwell under the shadow thereof.
30-32 "How can we picture God’s kingdom? What kind of story can we use? It’s like an acorn. When it lands on the ground it is quite small as seeds go, yet once it is planted it grows into a huge oak tree with thick branches. Eagles nest in it."
