17 One of the men in the crowd spoke up and said, "Teacher, I brought my son so you could heal him. He is possessed by an evil spirit that won’t let him talk.
22 The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can."
23 "What do you mean, ‘If I can’?" Jesus asked. "Anything is possible if a person believes."
24 The father instantly cried out, "I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!"
17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; 22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. 23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
17 A man in the crowd answered, "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech.
22 "It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us."
23 " ‘If you can’?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for one who believes."
24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"
17 And someone from the crowd answered him, "Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has ver. 25;Luke 11:14a spirit that makes him mute. 22 And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But [ch. 1:40;Matt. 9:28]if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us." 23 And Jesus said to him, [See ver. 22above] "‘If you can’! [ch. 6:5,6;Matt. 17:20]All things are possible for one who believes."24 Immediately the father of the child cried out9:24 Some manuscripts add with tears and said, "I believe; [Luke 17:5]help my unbelief!"
17 Then Matt. 17:14; Luke 9:38one of the crowd answered and said, "Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit.
22 And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us."
23 Jesus said to him, Matt. 17:20; Mark 11:23; Luke 17:6; John 11:40"If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes."
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, "Lord, I believe; Luke 17:5help my unbelief!"
17 And one person from the crowd answered Him, "Teacher, I brought You my son, because he has a spirit that makes him unable to speak; 22 It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to kill him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!" 23 But Jesus said to him, " ‘If You can’? All things are possible for the one who believes."24 Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, "I do believe; help my unbelief!"
17 Someone from the crowd answered him, "Teacher, 9:17 Mk 4:38; Eph 4:11 I brought my son to you. He has a spirit 9:17 Lk 11:24; 1Tm 4:1; 1Jn 4:1 that makes him unable to speak. 9:17 Mk 7:37
22 "And many times it has thrown him into fire or water to destroy 9:22 Jn 6:27 him. But if you can do anything, have compassion 9:22 Lk 15:20 on us and help us."
23 Jesus said to him, " ‘If you can’? 9:23 Other mss add believeEverything is possible 9:23 Mt 17:20; Jn 11:40for the one who believes." 9:23 Jn 3:16; Ac 10:43; Rm 10:9; 1Pt 1:8–10
24 Immediately the father of the boy cried out, "I do believe; help my unbelief! "
17 Who, wheresoever he taketh him, dasheth him, and he foameth, and gnasheth with the teeth, and pineth away; and I spoke to thy disciples to cast him out, and they could not. 22 And Jesus saith to him: If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 23 And immediately the father of the boy crying out, with tears said: I do believe, Lord: help my unbelief. 24 And when Jesus saw the multitude running together, he threatened the unclean spirit, saying to him: Deaf and dumb spirit, I command thee, go out of him; and enter not any more into him.
17,18 A man out of the crowd answered, "Teacher, I brought my mute son, made speechless by a demon, to you. Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth, and goes stiff as a board. I told your disciples, hoping they could deliver him, but they couldn’t."
21,22 He asked the boy’s father, "How long has this been going on?"
"Ever since he was a little boy. Many times it pitches him into fire or the river to do away with him. If you can do anything, do it. Have a heart and help us!"
23 Jesus said, "If? There are no ‘ifs’ among believers. Anything can happen."
24 No sooner were the words out of his mouth than the father cried, "Then I believe. Help me with my doubts!"
