25 About three o’clock in the morning14:25 Greek In the fourth watch of the night. Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, "It’s a ghost!"
27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. "Don’t be afraid," he said. "Take courage. I am here!14:27 Or The ‘I Am’ is here; Greek reads I am. See Exod 3:14."
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

24-26 Meanwhile, the boat was far out to sea when the wind came up against them and they were battered by the waves. At about four o’clock in the morning, Jesus came toward them walking on the water. They were scared to death. "A ghost!" they said, crying out in terror.
27 But Jesus was quick to comfort them. "Courage, it’s me. Don’t be afraid."
