Dia dos Pais

20 »He went to his father. He was a long way from home when his father saw him. His heart filled with pity. He ran and threw his arms around his son and kissed him.

21 »Father, the son said: I have sinned against God and against you. I am not fit to be called your son.

22 »The father called his servants. He said: Hurry and bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and shoes on his feet.

23 »Get the prize calf and kill it. Let us celebrate with a feast!


3 Children are an inheritance from Jehovah. They are a blessing from him.

4 The children born to a man when he is young are like arrows in the hand of a warrior.

5 Blessed is the man who has filled his quiver with them. He will not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the city gate.


24 He who spares the rod authority hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines instructs him promptly.


13 Be alert be watchful and stand fast be vigilantpersevere in the faith, carry on as men be courageous, be strong. (Ps 31:24)


15 »If you are not willing to serve him, decide today whom you will serve, the gods your ancestors worshiped in Mesopotamia or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are now living. As for my family and me, we will serve Jehovah.«


24 The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice and he who gives birth to a wise child will receive joy from him.


7 The righteous man walks in his integrity. He blesses his children.


12 »Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land Jehovah your God gives you.


26 Respect for Jehovah builds strong confidence. Your children will have a place of refuge.


6 Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
