1 Depois disso ele me mostrou o sumo sacerdote Josué diante do anjo do Senhor, e Satanás, à sua direita, para acusá-lo.2 O anjo do Senhor disse a Satanás: "O Senhor o repreenda, Satanás! O Senhor que escolheu Jerusalém o repreenda! Este homem não parece um tição tirado do fogo? "3 Ora, Josué, vestido de roupas impuras, estava de pé diante do anjo.4 O anjo disse aos que estavam diante dele: "Tirem as roupas impuras dele". Depois disse a Josué: "Veja, eu tirei de você o seu pecado, e coloquei vestes nobres sobre você".5 Disse também: "Coloquem um turbante limpo em sua cabeça". Colocaram o turbante nele e o vestiram, enquanto o anjo do Senhor observava.6 O anjo do Senhor exortou a Josué, dizendo:7 "Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: ‘Se você andar nos meus caminhos e obedecer aos meus preceitos, você governará a minha casa e também estará encarregado das minhas cortes, e eu lhe darei um lugar entre estes que estão aqui.8 " ‘Ouçam bem, sumo sacerdote Josué e seus companheiros sentados diante de você, homens que prefiguram coisas que virão: Vou trazer o meu servo, o Renovo.9 Vejam a pedra que coloquei na frente de Josué! Ela tem sete pares de olhos, e eu gravarei nela uma inscrição’, declara o Senhor dos Exércitos, ‘e removerei o pecado desta terra num único dia.10 " ‘Naquele dia’, declara o Senhor dos Exércitos, ‘cada um de vocês convidará seu próximo para assentar-se debaixo da sua videira e debaixo da sua figueira’ ".

1 And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the agent of LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to be his adversary.2 And LORD said to Satan, LORD rebuke thee, O Satan. Yea, LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee. Is this not a brand plucked out of the fire?3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the [heavenly] agent.4 And he answered and spoke to those who stood before him, saying, Take the filthy garments from off him. And to him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with rich apparel.5 And I said, Let them set a clean miter upon his head. So they set a clean miter upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the agent of LORD was standing by.6 And the agent of LORD testified to Joshua, saying,7 Thus says LORD of hosts: If thou will walk in my ways, and if thou will keep my charge, then thou also shall judge my house, and shall also keep my courts, and I will give thee a place of access among these who stand by.8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou and thy fellows who sit before thee, for they are men who are a sign. For, behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch.9 For, behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua. Upon one stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave the graving of it, says LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.10 In that day, says LORD of hosts, ye shall invite each man his neighbor under the vine and under the fig tree.
