Salmos 36

Para o mestre de música. De Davi, servo do Senhor.

1 Há no meu íntimo um oráculo

a respeito da maldade do ímpio:*36.1 Ou Há um oráculo de maldade / no íntimo do ímpio.

Não há temor a Deus diante dos seus olhos.

2 Ele se acha tão importante

que não percebe nem odeia o seu pecado.

3 As palavras da sua boca são maldosas e traiçoeiras;

abandonou o bom senso e não quer fazer o bem.

4 Até na sua cama planeja maldade;

nada há de bom no caminho a que se entregou,

e ele nunca rejeita o mal.

5 O teu amor leal, Senhor, chega até os céus;

a tua fidelidade, até as nuvens.

6 A tua justiça é como as mais altas montanhas;*36.6 Ou como as montanhas de Deus.

os teus juízos, como as profundezas do mar.

Tu, Senhor, preservas tanto os homens quanto os animais.

7 Como é precioso o teu amor leal, ó Deus!

Todo ser humano encontra refúgio à sombra das tuas asas.

8 Eles se banqueteiam na fartura da tua casa;

tu lhes dás de beber do teu rio de delícias.

9 Pois em ti está a fonte da vida;

na tua luz, vemos a luz.

10 Estende o teu amor leal aos que te conhecem;

a tua justiça, aos retos de coração.

11 Que os pés do arrogante não me pisoteiem

nem a mão do ímpio me faça recuar.

12 Vejam bem como os malfeitores caíram:

lançados ao chão, são incapazes de levantar-se!

1 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart,

There is no fear of God before his eyes.

2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes,

That his iniquity will not be found out and be hated.

3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit:

He hath ceased to be wise and to do good.

4 He deviseth iniquity upon his bed;

He setteth himself in a way that is not good;

He abhorreth not evil.

5 Thy lovingkindness, O Jehovah, is in the heavens;

Thy faithfulness reacheth unto the skies.

6 Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God;

Thy judgments are a great deep:

O Jehovah, thou preservest man and beast.

7 How precious is thy lovingkindness, O God!

And the children of men take refuge under the shadow of thy wings.

8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house;

And thou wilt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

9 For with thee is the fountain of life:

In thy light shall we see light.

10 Oh continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee,

And thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 Let not the foot of pride come against me,

And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.

12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen:

They are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.
