A oferta pelo pecado

1 O Senhor disse a Moisés:

2 — Diga aos israelitas: "Quando alguém pecar sem intenção, fazendo o que é proibido em qualquer um dos mandamentos do Senhor, assim se fará:

3 "Se o que pecar for o sacerdote ungido, trazendo culpa sobre o povo, o sacerdote trará ao Senhor um novilho sem defeito como oferta pelo pecado que cometeu. 4 Apresentará o novilho à entrada da tenda do encontro, diante do Senhor. Porá a mão sobre a cabeça do novilho e o imolará diante do Senhor. 5 Então, o sacerdote ungido pegará um pouco do sangue do novilho e o levará à tenda do encontro; 6 molhará o dedo no sangue e o aspergirá sete vezes diante do Senhor, em frente do véu do santuário. 7 O sacerdote porá um pouco do sangue nos chifres do altar do incenso aromático que está diante do Senhor, na tenda do encontro. Derramará o restante do sangue do novilho na base do altar do holocausto,*4.7 Isto é, sacrifício totalmente queimado; também nos versículos 10, 18, 24, 25, 29, 30, 33 e 34. à entrada da tenda do encontro. 8 Ele retirará toda a gordura do novilho da oferta pelo pecado: a gordura que cobre as vísceras e está ligada a elas, 9 os dois rins com a gordura que os cobre e que está perto dos lombos, e o lóbulo do fígado, que ele removerá com os rins, 10 assim como se retira a gordura do boi*4.10 A palavra hebraica pode significar boi ou vaca. sacrificado como oferta de comunhão. O sacerdote queimará essas porções no altar do holocausto, 11 mas o couro do novilho e toda a sua carne, bem como a cabeça e as pernas, as vísceras e os excrementos — 12 isto é, tudo o que restar do novilho —, ele levará para fora do acampamento, a um local cerimonialmente puro, onde se lançam as cinzas com gordura. Ali os queimará sobre a lenha de uma fogueira, sobre o monte de cinzas.

13 "Se a que pecar sem intenção for toda a comunidade de Israel, fazendo o que é proibido em qualquer um dos mandamentos do Senhor, ainda que não tenha consciência disso, a comunidade será culpada. 14 Quando tiver consciência do pecado que cometeu, a assembleia trará um novilho como oferta pelo pecado e o apresentará diante da tenda do encontro. 15 As autoridades da comunidade porão as mãos sobre a cabeça do novilho diante do Senhor, e imolarão o novilho diante do Senhor. 16 Então, o sacerdote ungido levará um pouco do sangue do novilho para a tenda do encontro; 17 molhará o dedo no sangue e o aspergirá sete vezes diante do Senhor, em frente do véu. 18 Porá o sangue nos chifres do altar que está diante do Senhor, na tenda do encontro, e derramará o restante do sangue na base do altar do holocausto, à entrada da tenda do encontro. 19 Ele retirará toda a gordura do animal e a queimará no altar, 20 e fará com este novilho como se faz com o novilho da oferta pelo pecado. Assim, o sacerdote fará expiação por eles, e serão perdoados. 21 Depois, levará o novilho para fora do acampamento e o queimará como queimou o primeiro. É oferta pelo pecado da assembleia.

22 "Se um líder pecar sem intenção, fazendo o que é proibido em qualquer um dos mandamentos do Senhor, o seu Deus, será culpado. 23 Quando o conscientizarem do seu pecado, o líder trará como oferta um bode sem defeito. 24 Porá a mão sobre a cabeça do bode e o imolará no local onde o holocausto é imolado, diante do Senhor. Esta é a oferta pelo pecado. 25 Então, o sacerdote pegará com o dedo um pouco do sangue da oferta pelo pecado e o porá nos chifres do altar do holocausto e derramará o restante do sangue na base do altar. 26 Queimará toda a gordura no altar, como queimou a gordura do sacrifício de comunhão. Assim, o sacerdote fará expiação pelo pecado do líder, e o seu pecado será perdoado.

27 "Se uma única pessoa do povo da terra pecar sem intenção, fazendo o que é proibido em qualquer um dos mandamentos do Senhor, o seu Deus, será culpada. 28 Quando a conscientizarem do seu pecado, trará uma cabra sem defeito como oferta pelo pecado que cometeu. 29 Porá a mão sobre a cabeça do animal da oferta pelo pecado e o imolará no lugar do holocausto. 30 Então, o sacerdote pegará com o dedo um pouco do sangue e o porá nos chifres do altar do holocausto e derramará o restante do sangue na base do altar. 31 Removerá toda a gordura, como se retira a gordura do sacrifício de comunhão; o sacerdote a queimará no altar como aroma agradável ao Senhor. Assim, o sacerdote fará expiação por esse homem, e seu pecado será perdoado.

32 "Se alguém trouxer um cordeiro como oferta pelo pecado, deverá trazer uma fêmea sem defeito. 33 Porá a mão sobre a cabeça do animal que será imolado como oferta pelo pecado no lugar onde é imolado o holocausto. 34 Então, o sacerdote pegará com o dedo um pouco do sangue da oferta pelo pecado e o porá nos chifres do altar do holocausto e derramará o restante do sangue na base do altar. 35 Removerá toda a gordura, como se remove a gordura do cordeiro do sacrifício de comunhão; o sacerdote a queimará no altar, em cima das ofertas preparadas no fogo, dedicadas ao Senhor. Assim, o sacerdote fará em favor do culpado expiação pelo pecado cometido, e o pecado será perdoado.

The Sin Offering

1 The Lord said to Moses, 2 "Say to the Israelites: ‘When anyone sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands—

3 " ‘If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, he must bring to the Lord a young bull without defect as a sin offering*4:3 Or purification offering; here and throughout this chapter for the sin he has committed. 4 He is to present the bull at the entrance to the tent of meeting before the Lord. He is to lay his hand on its head and slaughter it there before the Lord. 5 Then the anointed priest shall take some of the bull’s blood and carry it into the tent of meeting. 6 He is to dip his finger into the blood and sprinkle some of it seven times before the Lord, in front of the curtain of the sanctuary. 7 The priest shall then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. The rest of the bull’s blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 8 He shall remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering—all the fat that is connected to the internal organs, 9 both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which he will remove with the kidneys— 10 just as the fat is removed from the ox*4:10 The Hebrew word can refer to either male or female. sacrificed as a fellowship offering. Then the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering. 11 But the hide of the bull and all its flesh, as well as the head and legs, the internal organs and the intestines— 12 that is, all the rest of the bull—he must take outside the camp to a place ceremonially clean, where the ashes are thrown, and burn it there in a wood fire on the ash heap.

13 " ‘If the whole Israelite community sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though the community is unaware of the matter, when they realize their guilt 14 and the sin they committed becomes known, the assembly must bring a young bull as a sin offering and present it before the tent of meeting. 15 The elders of the community are to lay their hands on the bull’s head before the Lord, and the bull shall be slaughtered before the Lord. 16 Then the anointed priest is to take some of the bull’s blood into the tent of meeting. 17 He shall dip his finger into the blood and sprinkle it before the Lord seven times in front of the curtain. 18 He is to put some of the blood on the horns of the altar that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. The rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 19 He shall remove all the fat from it and burn it on the altar, 20 and do with this bull just as he did with the bull for the sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for the community, and they will be forgiven. 21 Then he shall take the bull outside the camp and burn it as he burned the first bull. This is the sin offering for the community.

22 " ‘When a leader sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the commands of the Lord his God, when he realizes his guilt 23 and the sin he has committed becomes known, he must bring as his offering a male goat without defect. 24 He is to lay his hand on the goat’s head and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the Lord. It is a sin offering. 25 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. 26 He shall burn all the fat on the altar as he burned the fat of the fellowship offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for the leader’s sin, and he will be forgiven.

27 " ‘If any member of the community sins unintentionally and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, when they realize their guilt 28 and the sin they have committed becomes known, they must bring as their offering for the sin they committed a female goat without defect. 29 They are to lay their hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it at the place of the burnt offering. 30 Then the priest is to take some of the blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. 31 They shall remove all the fat, just as the fat is removed from the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar as an aroma pleasing to the Lord. In this way the priest will make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven.

32 " ‘If someone brings a lamb as their sin offering, they are to bring a female without defect. 33 They are to lay their hand on its head and slaughter it for a sin offering at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered. 34 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. 35 They shall remove all the fat, just as the fat is removed from the lamb of the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar on top of the food offerings presented to the Lord. In this way the priest will make atonement for them for the sin they have committed, and they will be forgiven.
