1 Eles trouxeram a arca de Deus e a colocaram na tenda que Davi lhe havia preparado, e ofereceram holocaustos e sacrifícios de comunhão diante de Deus.2 Após oferecer os holocaustos e os sacrifícios de comunhão, Davi abençoou o povo em nome do Senhor,3 e deu um pão, um bolo de tâmaras e um bolo de uvas passas a cada homem e a cada mulher israelita.4 Davi nomeou alguns dos levitas para ministrarem diante da arca do Senhor, fazendo petições, dando graças, e louvando o Senhor, o Deus de Israel.5 Desses, Asafe era o chefe, Zacarias vinha em seguida, e depois Jeiel, Semiramote, Jeiel, Matitias, Eliabe, Benaia, Obede-Edom e Jeiel. Eles deviam tocar lira e harpa, enquanto Asafe tocava os címbalos.6 Os sacerdotes Benaia e Jaaziel deviam tocar diariamente as trombetas diante da arca da aliança de Deus.7 Foi naquele dia que pela primeira vez Davi encarregou a Asafe e seus parentes de louvar ao Senhor com salmos de gratidão:8 Dêem graças ao Senhor, clamem pelo seu nome, divulguem entre as nações o que ele tem feito.9 Cantem para ele, louvem-no; contem todos os seus atos maravilhosos.10 Gloriem-se no seu santo nome; alegrem-se os corações dos que buscam o Senhor.11 Olhem para o Senhor e para a sua força; busquem sempre a sua face.12 Lembrem-se das maravilhas que ele fez, dos seus prodígios e das ordenanças que pronunciou,13 ó descendentes de Israel, seu servo, ó filhos de Jacó, seus escolhidos.14 Ele é o Senhor, o nosso Deus; seus domínio alcança toda a terra.15 Para sempre se lembra da sua aliança, da palavra que ordenou para mil gerações,16 da aliança que fez com Abraão, do juramento que fez a Isaque,17 que confirmou para Jacó como um decreto, e para Israel como uma aliança eterna, dizendo:18 "A vocês darei a terra de Canaã, a herança que possuirão".19 Quando eles ainda eram poucos, muito poucos, e estrangeiros nela,20 e vagueavam de nação em nação, de um reino a outro,21 ele não permitiu que ninguém os oprimisse; por causa deles repreendeu reis, ordenando:22 "Não maltratem os meus ungidos; não façam mal aos meus profetas".23 Cantem ao Senhor, todas as terras! Proclamem a sua salvação dia após dia!24 Anunciem a sua glória entre as nações, seus feitos maravilhosos entre todos os povos!25 Pois o Senhor é grande e muitíssimo digno de louvor; ele deve ser mais temido que todos os deuses.26 Pois todos os deuses das nações não passam de ídolos, mas o Senhor fez os céus.27 O esplendor e a majestade estão diante dele; força e alegria na sua habitação.28 Dêem ao Senhor, ó famílias das nações, dêem ao Senhor glória e força.29 Dêem ao Senhor a glória devida ao seu nome. Tragam ofertas e venham à sua presença. Adorem o Senhor no esplendor da sua santidade,30 tremam diante dele, todas as nações! Firmou o mundo, que não se abalará!31 Que os céus se alegrem e a terra exulte, e diga-se entre as nações: "O Senhor reina! "32 Ressoe o mar, e tudo o que nele existe; exultem os campos, e tudo o que neles há!33 Então as árvores da floresta cantarão de alegria, cantarão diante do Senhor, pois ele vem julgar a terra.34 Rendam graças ao Senhor, pois ele é bom; o seu amor dura para sempre.35 Clamem: "Salva-nos, ó Deus, nosso Salvador! Reúne-nos e livra-nos das nações, para que demos graças ao teu santo nome e façamos do teu louvor a nossa glória".36 Bendito seja o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, de eternidade a eternidade. Então todo o povo exclamou: "Amém! " e "Louvado seja o Senhor! "37 Então Davi deixou Asafe e seus parentes diante da arca da aliança do Senhor para ali ministrarem regularmente, de acordo com as prescrições para cada dia.38 Também deixou Obede-Edom e seus sessenta e oito parentes para ministrarem com eles. Obede-Edom, filho de Jedutum, e também Hosa foram porteiros.39 Davi deixou o sacerdote Zadoque e seus parentes sacerdotes diante do tabernáculo do Senhor em Gibeom40 para regularmente, de manhã e à tarde, apresentarem holocaustos no altar de holocaustos, de acordo com tudo o que está escrito na Lei do Senhor, que ele deu a Israel.41 Com eles estavam Hemã e Jedutum e os outros designados para darem graças ao Senhor, exclamando: "O seu amor dura para sempre".42 Hemã e Jedutum eram responsáveis pelas trombetas, pelos címbalos e pelos outros instrumentos musicais para o culto. 1 And they brought in the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before God.2 And when David had made an end of offering the burnt-offering and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh.3 And he dealt to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, and a portion [of flesh], and a cake of raisins.4 And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of Yahweh, and to celebrate and to thank and praise Yahweh, the God of Israel:5 Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, with psalteries and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud;6 and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually, before the ark of the covenant of God.7 Then on that day David first appointed to give thanks to Yahweh, by the hand of Asaph and his brothers.8 O give thanks to Yahweh, call on his name; Make known his doings among the peoples.9 Sing to him, sing praises to him; Talk{+} of all his marvelous works.10 Glory{+} in his holy name; Let the heart of them rejoice that seek Yahweh.11 Seek{+} Yahweh and his strength; Seek his face evermore.12 Remember his marvelous works that he has done, His wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,13 O you{+} seed of Israel his slave, You{+} sons of Jacob, his chosen ones.14 He is Yahweh our God; His judgments are in all the earth.15 Remember his covenant forever, The word which he commanded to a thousand generations,16 [The covenant] which he made with Abraham, And his oath to Isaac,17 And confirmed the same to Jacob for a statute, To Israel for an everlasting covenant,18 Saying, To you I will give the land of Canaan, The lot of your{+} inheritance;19 When you{+} were but a few men in number, Yes, very few, and sojourners in it;20 And they went about from nation to nation, And from one kingdom to another people.21 He allowed no man to do them wrong; Yes, he reproved kings for their sakes,22 [Saying], Don't touch my anointed ones, And do my prophets no harm.23 Sing to Yahweh, all the earth; Proclaim the good news of his salvation from day to day.24 Declare his glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples.25 For great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised: He also is to be awed above all gods.26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols: But Yahweh made the heavens.27 Honor and majesty are before him: Strength and gladness are in his place.28 Ascribe to Yahweh, you{+} kindreds of the peoples, Ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength;29 Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name: Bring an offering, and come before him: Worship Yahweh in holy array.30 Tremble before him, all the earth: Indeed, the world will be established, it will not be moved.31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; And let them say among the nations, Yahweh reigns.32 Let the sea roar, and the fullness of it; Let the field exult, and all that is in it;33 Then will the trees of the forest sing for joy before Yahweh; For he comes to judge the earth.34 O give thanks to Yahweh; for he is good; For his loving-kindness [endures] forever.35 And say{+}, Save us, O God of our salvation, And gather us together and deliver us from the nations, To give thanks to your holy name, And to triumph in your praise.36 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And all the people said, Amen, and praised Yahweh.37 So he left there, before the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, Asaph and his brothers, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required;38 and Obed-edom with their brothers, threescore and eight; Obed-edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be doorkeepers;39 and Zadok the priest, and his brothers the priests, before the tabernacle of Yahweh in the high place that was at Gibeon,40 to offer burnt-offerings to Yahweh on the altar of burnt-offering continually morning and evening, even according to all that is written in the law of Yahweh, which he commanded to Israel;41 and with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen, who were mentioned by name, to give thanks to Yahweh, because his loving-kindness [endures] forever;42 and with them Heman and Jeduthun [with] trumpets and cymbals for those who should sound aloud, and [with] instruments for the songs of God; and the sons of Jeduthun to be at the gate.43 And all the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house.
