13 O anjo, porém, lhe disse: "Não tenha medo, Zacarias! Sua oração foi ouvida. Isabel, sua esposa, lhe dará um filho, e você o chamará João. 14 Você terá grande satisfação e alegria, e muitos se alegrarão com o nascimento do menino, 15 pois ele será grande aos olhos do Senhor. Nunca tomará vinho nem outra bebida forte. Será cheio do Espírito Santo, antes mesmo de nascer.

13 But the angel said to him, "Stop being afraid, Zechariah, because your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to name him John.

14 You will have joy and gladness, and many people will rejoice at his birth.

15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He will never drink wine or any strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born.
