1 Portanto, visto que Deus, em sua misericórdia, nos deu a tarefa de ministrar nesse novo sistema, nunca desistimos. 2 Rejeitamos todos os atos vergonhosos e métodos dissimulados. Não procuramos enganar ninguém nem distorcemos a palavra de Deus. Em vez disso, dizemos a verdade diante de Deus, e todos que são honestos sabem disso.

3 Se as boas-novas que anunciamos estão encobertas atrás de um véu, é apenas para aqueles que estão perecendo. 4 O deus deste mundo cegou a mente dos que não creem, para que não consigam ver a luz das boas-novas, não entendendo esta mensagem a respeito da glória de Cristo, que é a imagem de Deus.

5 Não andamos por aí falando de nós mesmos, mas proclamamos que Jesus Cristo é Senhor e que nós mesmos somos servos de vocês por causa de Jesus. 6 Pois Deus, que disse: "Haja luz na escuridão", é quem brilhou em nosso coração, para que conhecêssemos a glória de Deus na face de Jesus Cristo.

7 Agora nós mesmos somos como vasos frágeis de barro que contêm esse grande tesouro. Assim, fica evidente que esse grande poder vem de Deus, e não de nós.

8 De todos os lados somos pressionados por aflições, mas não esmagados. Ficamos perplexos, mas não desesperados. 9 Somos perseguidos, mas não abandonados. Somos derrubados, mas não destruídos. 10 Pelo sofrimento, nosso corpo continua a participar da morte de Jesus, para que a vida de Jesus também se manifeste em nosso corpo.

11 Sim, vivemos sob constante perigo de morte, porque servimos a Jesus, para que a vida de Jesus se manifeste em nosso corpo mortal. 12 Assim, enfrentamos a morte, mas isso resulta em vida para vocês.

13 Continuamos a pregar porque temos o mesmo tipo de fé mencionada nas Escrituras: "Cri em Deus, por isso falei". 14 Sabemos que Deus, que ressuscitou o Senhor Jesus, também nos ressuscitará com Jesus e nos apresentará a ele junto com vocês. 15 Tudo isso é para o bem de vocês. E, à medida que a graça alcançar mais pessoas, haverá muitas ações de graças, e Deus receberá cada vez mais glória.

16 Por isso, nunca desistimos. Ainda que nosso exterior esteja morrendo, nosso interior está sendo renovado a cada dia. 17 Pois estas aflições pequenas e momentâneas que agora enfrentamos produzem para nós uma glória que pesa mais que todas as angústias e durará para sempre. 18 Portanto, não olhamos para aquilo que agora podemos ver; em vez disso, fixamos o olhar naquilo que não se pode ver. Pois as coisas que agora vemos logo passarão, mas as que não podemos ver durarão para sempre.

1 Therefore, seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we don’t faint. 2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 Even if our Good News is veiled, it is veiled in those who are dying, 4 in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. 5 For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake, 6 seeing it is God who said, "Light will shine out of darkness," who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

7 But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves. 8 We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair; 9 pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh. 12 So then death works in us, but life in you.

13 But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, "I believed, and therefore I spoke." We also believe, and therefore we also speak, 14 knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus, and will present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

16 Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward person is decaying, yet our inward person is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory, 18 while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
