1 No meio da minha angústia clamei ao Senhor,

e ele ouviu-me:

2 "Senhor, livra-me da ação dos mentirosos,

dos que só sabem abrir a boca para enganar!"

3 Na verdade, qual é o fruto da língua mentirosa?

4 Ela ataca e fere como punhais;

destrói como um fogo intenso.

5 Sinto-me muito infeliz habitando em Meseque,

e vivendo entre as tendas de Quedar.

6 Estou realmente cansado de viver com pessoas

que, no fundo, detestam a paz.

7 Eu quero a paz e, por mais que fale a favor dela,

eles sempre procuram a guerra!

6 My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.
