1 Senhor, a ti clamo,

do profundo desespero em que caí.

2 Ouve-me, Senhor!

Dá atenção aos meus rogos!

3 Se considerares os nossos pecados, Senhor,

quem é que poderá sequer manter-se vivo?

4 Mas tu és um Deus que perdoa;

é isso que faz com que sejas temido.

5 Confio em ti, esperando a tua resposta,

segundo o que prometeste.

6 Anseio por ti, Senhor,

mais do que as sentinelas pelo romper da madrugada.

Sim, mais do que elas!

7 Espera no Senhor, ó povo de Israel,

porque ele é cheio de misericórdia

e deseja salvar-te perfeitamente!

8 Ele redimirá Israel de todas as suas iniquidades.

A Song of degrees.

1 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.

2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
