Salmo didático de David. Oração que fez quando estava na caverna.

1 Suplico ao Senhor,

em voz alta clamo por ele!

2 Derramo o meu choro perante a sua face;

exponho-lhe a minha angústia.

3 No meio de todo esse meu desespero,

só tu sabes dar-me o escape!

Os meus inimigos aproveitam-se da situação,

para me armarem ciladas.

4 Se procuro alguém que me ajude,

acho-me completamente sozinho!

Ninguém me pode servir de refúgio;

ninguém quer saber de mim!

5 Então clamo por ti, Senhor:

"Tu és o meu refúgio!", grito eu.

"Tu és tudo o que tenho nesta vida!"

6 Ouve a minha oração,

pois estou tão abatido!

Livra-me dos que me perseguem,

porque são muito mais fortes do que eu!

7 Arranca-me desta prisão,

porque só assim poderei louvar o teu nome!

Os justos se juntarão a mim,

ao constatarem todo o bem que me fizeste!

2 I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.

3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

5 I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

6 Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.

7 Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.
