Salmo de David.

1 A ti, Senhor, se dirige a minha alma.

2 Meu Deus, eu confio em ti,

não me deixes ficar mal na frente dos meus inimigos;

não permitas que eles triunfem sobre mim.

3 Na realidade,

os que têm esperança em ti nunca ficarão envergonhados;

envergonhados ficarão, sim,

aqueles que defraudam traiçoeiramente os outros.

4 Ensina-me a andar nos teus caminhos, Senhor;

dá-me a conhecer a direção exata dos teus caminhos.

5 Guia-me na tua verdade e ensina-me,

pois és o Deus da minha salvação;

só tu és a minha esperança, Senhor.

6 Lembra-te da tua misericórdia,

da grande bondade que sempre tens demonstrado.

7 Não te lembres dos pecados da minha mocidade;

perdoa as minhas transgressões.

Olha para mim segundo a tua compaixão

e de acordo com o teu amor.

8 Bom e justo é o Senhor;

por isso ele ensinará o seu caminho aos pecadores.

9 Guiará na sua justiça os humildes

e lhes ensinará por onde devem seguir.

10 Os caminhos do Senhor são amor e verdade,

para os que guardarem a sua aliança e preceitos.

11 Por amor do teu nome, Senhor,

perdoa a minha iniquidade, que é grande!

12 Quem diz temer o Senhor, venha,

para que lhe ensine o melhor caminho da vida.

13 A sua alma gozará do bem

e os seus descendentes possuirão a terra.

14 Os que temem o Senhor

terão o privilégio de entrar na sua intimidade;

ele lhes dará a conhecer a sua aliança.

15 Os meus olhos estão continuamente postos no Senhor;

só ele pode livrar os meus pés das ciladas que me armam.

16 Olha para mim e tem piedade de mim,

porque me sinto só e acabrunhado.

17 As ânsias do meu coração têm-se multiplicado;

tira-me dos apertos em que me vejo.

18 Vê a minha aflição e a minha dor

e perdoa os meus pecados.

19 Olha quantos inimigos eu tenho;

como se vão multiplicando e me odeiam cruelmente.

20 Guarda a minha alma e livra-me deles;

não me deixes ficar mal, porque em ti me refugio.

21 Que a sinceridade e a retidão me guardem na vida;

tu és a minha esperança.

22 Livra Israel, ó Deus, de todas as suas aflições!

A Psalm of David.

1 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.*25.6 tender…: Heb. bowels

7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.

8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11 For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.*25.13 dwell…: Heb. lodge in goodness

14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.*25.14 and…: or, and his covenant to make them know it

15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.*25.15 pluck: Heb. bring forth

16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.

17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.*25.19 cruel…: Heb. hatred of violence

20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.

21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
