1 O Senhor domina e governa sobre tudo o que existe.

Que a Terra inteira se alegre com isso!

Que os vastos e distantes continentes

se regozijem com essa verdade!

2 Nuvens e escuridão rodeiam-no;

a retidão e a justiça são os fundamentos do seu trono.

3 À sua frente vai um fogo

que consome todos os seus inimigos.

4 Os seus relâmpagos atravessam todo o firmamento;

toda a Terra vê o que acontece e estremece.

5 As montanhas derretem-se como cera

diante do Senhor que domina toda a Terra.

6 Os céus proclamam a sua justiça;

a sua glória é vista por todos os povos.

7 Que fiquem envergonhados

todos os que adoram imagens de escultura,

e têm vaidade nesses ídolos inúteis!

Que todos esses pretensos deuses

se inclinem perante o Senhor!

8 Sião e todas as cidades de Judá

ouviram falar da tua justiça, Senhor, e se alegraram.

9 Pois tu, Senhor, dominas sobre toda a Terra;

és bem superior a todos esses falsos deuses.

10 Os que amam o Senhor, aborreçam o mal;

ele protege a vida do seu povo e livra-o da mão dos maus.

11 A luz é feita para os retos

e a alegria para os que têm um coração íntegro.

12 Alegrem-se, os que são justos aos olhos do Senhor,

e deem louvores ao nosso santo Deus!

8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD.

9 For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
