1 Whosoever believeth that, Jesus, is the Christ, of God, hath been born: and, whosoever loveth him that begat, loveth him that hath been begotten of him.2 Hereby, perceive we, that we love the children of God, as soon as, God, we love, and, his commandments, we are doing.3 For, this is the love of Godthat, his commandments, we be keeping, and, his commandments, are not burdensome;4 Because, whatsoever hath been born of God, overcometh the world; and, this, is the victory that hath overcome the worldour faith.5 And who is he that overcometh the world, save he that believeth that, Jesus, is the Son of God?6 This, is he that came through means of water and blood, Jesus Christ: not, by the water, only, but, by the water and by the blood,and, the Spirit, it is, that is bearing witness, because, the Spirit, is the truth.7 Because, three, are they who are bearing witness8 The Spirit, and the Water, and the Blood; and, the three, are, , unto one thing.9 If, the witness of men, we receive, the witness of God, is, greater. Because, this, is the witness of Godin that he hath borne witness concerning his Son,10 He that believeth on the Son of God, hath the witness, within himself: He that doth not believe God, false, hath made him,because he hath not believed on the witness which, God, hath witnessed, concerning his Son11 And, this, is the witness:that, life age-abiding, hath God given unto us, and, this life, is, in his Son:12 He that hath the Son, hath, the life,he that hath not the Son of God, hath not, the life.13 These things, have I written unto youin order that ye may know that ye have, Life Age-abidingunto you who believe on the name of the Son of God.14 And, this, is the boldness which we have towards him: that, if, anything, we ask, according to his will, He doth hearken unto us.15 And, if we know that he doth hearken unto us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the things asked, which we have asked of him,16 If one should see his brother committing a sin, not unto death, he shall ask, and He will grant unto him life,for them who are sinning, not unto death. There, is, a sin, unto death: not concerning that, am I saying, that he should make request.17 All unrighteousness, is, sin, and there, is, a sin, not unto death.18 We know that, whosoever hath been born of God, is not committing sin,Nay, he that hath been born of God, He keepeth him, and, the wicked one, doth not touch him.19 We know that, of God, are we; and, the whole world, in the wicked one, is lying.20 We know, moreover, that, the Son of God, hath come, and hath given us insight, so that we are getting to understand, him that is Real,and we are in him that is Real, in his Son Jesus Christ. This, is the Real God, and life age-abiding.21 Dear children! Guard yourselves from idols.

1 Todo aquele que crê que Jesus é o Cristo é nascido de Deus; e todo aquele que ama ao que o gerou também ama ao que dele é nascido. 2 Nisto conhecemos que amamos os filhos de Deus: quando amamos a Deus e guardamos os seus mandamentos. 3 Porque este é o amor de Deus: que guardemos os seus mandamentos; e os seus mandamentos não são pesados. 4 Porque todo o que é nascido de Deus vence o mundo; e esta é a vitória que vence o mundo: a nossa fé. 5 Quem é que vence o mundo, senão aquele que crê que Jesus é o Filho de Deus?

6 Este é aquele que veio por água e sangue, isto é, Jesus Cristo; não só por água, mas por água e por sangue. E o Espírito é o que testifica, porque o Espírito é a verdade. 7 Porque três são os que testificam no céu: o Pai, a Palavra e o Espírito Santo; e estes três são um. 8 E três são os que testificam na terra: o Espírito, e a água, e o sangue; e estes três concordam num. 9 Se recebemos o testemunho dos homens, o testemunho de Deus é maior; porque o testemunho de Deus é este, que de seu Filho testificou. 10 Quem crê no Filho de Deus em si mesmo tem o testemunho; quem em Deus não crê mentiroso o fez, porquanto não creu no testemunho que Deus de seu Filho deu. 11 E o testemunho é este: que Deus nos deu a vida eterna; e esta vida está em seu Filho. 12 Quem tem o Filho tem a vida; quem não tem o Filho de Deus não tem a vida.

13 Estas coisas vos escrevi, para que saibais que tendes a vida eterna e para que creiais no nome do Filho de Deus.

14 E esta é a confiança que temos nele: que, se pedirmos alguma coisa, segundo a sua vontade, ele nos ouve. 15 E, se sabemos que nos ouve em tudo o que pedimos, sabemos que alcançamos as petições que lhe fizemos. 16 Se alguém vir seu irmão cometer pecado que não é para morte, orará, e Deus dará a vida àqueles que não pecarem para morte. Há pecado para morte, e por esse não digo que ore. 17 Toda iniquidade é pecado, e há pecado que não é para morte.

18 Sabemos que todo aquele que é nascido de Deus não vive pecando; mas o que de Deus é gerado conserva-se a si mesmo, e o maligno não lhe toca. 19 Sabemos que somos de Deus e que todo o mundo está no maligno.

20 E sabemos que já o Filho de Deus é vindo e nos deu entendimento para conhecermos o que é verdadeiro; e no que é verdadeiro estamos, isto é, em seu Filho Jesus Cristo. Este é o verdadeiro Deus e a vida eterna. 21 Filhinhos, guardai-vos dos ídolos. Amém!
