1 But, of this, be taking notethat, in last days, there will set in perilous seasons;2 For men will befond of themselves, fond of money, ostentatious, arrogant, defamers, to parents, unyielding, unthankful, unkind,3 without natural affection, accepting no truce, given to intrigue, without self-control, uncivilized, unfriendly to good men,4 traitors, reckless, beclouded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God,5 having a form of godliness, but, the power thereof, denying! and, from these, turn away;6 For, of these, are they who enter into the houses, and captivate silly women, laden with sins, led on by manifold covetings,7 Ever learning and never, unto a personal knowledge of truth, able to come;8 Moreover, like as, Jannes and Jambres, withstood Moses, so, these men also, withstand the truth,men utterly corrupted in their mind, disapproved concerning their faith;9 But they shall not force their way further, for, their folly, shall be, fully evident, unto all,as also, that of those men, became.10 But, thou, hast closely studiedmy teaching, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, love, endurance,11 persecutions, sufferings, what manner of things, befell me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra, what manner of persecutions, I endured,and, out of all, the Lord, rescued me;12 Yea and, all who are determined to live in a godly manner in Christ Jesus, will be persecuted;13 Whereas, wicked men and howling impostors, will force their way to the worse, deceiving and being deceived.14 But, thou,abide in the things which thou hast learned, and been entrusted with, knowing, from whom, thou hast learned ,15 And that, from a babe, those sacred letters, thou hast known which are able to make thee wise unto salvation, through the faith which is in Christ Jesus:16 Every scripture, God-breathed, and profitableunto teaching, unto conviction, unto correction, unto the discipline that is in righteousness,17 In order that, ready, may be the man, of God, unto every good work, being well-prepared.

1 Sabe, porém, isto: que nos últimos dias sobrevirão tempos trabalhosos; 2 porque haverá homens amantes de si mesmos, avarentos, presunçosos, soberbos, blasfemos, desobedientes a pais e mães, ingratos, profanos, 3 sem afeto natural, irreconciliáveis, caluniadores, incontinentes, cruéis, sem amor para com os bons, 4 traidores, obstinados, orgulhosos, mais amigos dos deleites do que amigos de Deus, 5 tendo aparência de piedade, mas negando a eficácia dela. Destes afasta-te. 6 Porque deste número são os que se introduzem pelas casas e levam cativas mulheres néscias carregadas de pecados, levadas de várias concupiscências, 7 que aprendem sempre e nunca podem chegar ao conhecimento da verdade. 8 E, como Janes e Jambres resistiram a Moisés, assim também estes resistem à verdade, sendo homens corruptos de entendimento e réprobos quanto à fé. 9 Não irão, porém, avante; porque a todos será manifesto o seu desvario, como também o foi o daqueles.

10 Tu, porém, tens seguido a minha doutrina, modo de viver, intenção, fé, longanimidade, amor, paciência, 11 perseguições e aflições tais quais me aconteceram em Antioquia, em Icônio e em Listra; quantas perseguições sofri, e o Senhor de todas me livrou. 12 E também todos os que piamente querem viver em Cristo Jesus padecerão perseguições. 13 Mas os homens maus e enganadores irão de mal para pior, enganando e sendo enganados.

14 Tu, porém, permanece naquilo que aprendeste e de que foste inteirado, sabendo de quem o tens aprendido. 15 E que, desde a tua meninice, sabes as sagradas letras, que podem fazer-te sábio para a salvação, pela fé que há em Cristo Jesus. 16 Toda Escritura divinamente inspirada é proveitosa para ensinar, para redarguir, para corrigir, para instruir em justiça, 17 para que o homem de Deus seja perfeito e perfeitamente instruído para toda boa obra.
