8 Thou art a hiding place for me, thou preservest me from trouble; thou dost encompass me with deliverance. [Selah]


8 But I through the abundance of thy steadfast love will enter thy house, I will worship toward thy holy temple in the fear of thee.


11 For thou dost not give me up to Sheol, or let thy godly one see the Pit. [ (Psalms 16:12) Thou dost show me the path of life; in thy presence there is fulness of joy, in thy right hand are pleasures for evermore. ]


28 We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.


13 Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding,


11 And the LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your desire with good things, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.


10 Say not, "Why were the former days better than these?" For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.


28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary, his understanding is unsearchable.


1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.


18 Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.


20 Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom for the future.


15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.


12 Who considers the power of thy anger, and thy wrath according to the fear of thee?


9 With weeping they shall come, and with consolations I will lead them back, I will make them walk by brooks of water, in a straight path in which they shall not stumble; for I am a father to Israel, and E'phraim is my first-born.


3 yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,

5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.


5 Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it completely.


35 For he who finds me finds life and obtains favor from the LORD;


18 Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.


12 Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days.

13 "With God are wisdom and might; he has counsel and understanding.


5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him.


2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace; but with the humble is wisdom.


1 Then Job answered:

2 "Truly I know that it is so: But how can a man be just before God?

3 If one wished to contend with him, one could not answer him once in a thousand times.

4 He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength --who has hardened himself against him, and succeeded?--


17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or insincerity.


12 "But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?

13 Man does not know the way to it, and it is not found in the land of the living.

14 The deep says, It is not in me,' and the sea says, It is not with me.'

15 It cannot be gotten for gold, and silver cannot be weighed as its price.

16 It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, in precious onyx or sapphire.

17 Gold and glass cannot equal it, nor can it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.

18 No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal; the price of wisdom is above pearls.

19 The topaz of Ethiopia cannot compare with it, nor can it be valued in pure gold.

20 "Whence then comes wisdom? And where is the place of understanding?

21 It is hid from the eyes of all living, and concealed from the birds of the air.

22 Abaddon and Death say, e have heard a rumor of it with our ears.'


34 "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day's own trouble be sufficient for the day.


17 As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all letters and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.


4 The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him that is weary. Morning by morning he wakens, he wakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.


5 And have you forgotten the exhortation which addresses you as sons?-- "My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor lose courage when you are punished by him.

6 For the Lord disciplines him whom he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives."


1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the LORD!

2 And yet he is wise and brings disaster, he does not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the helpers of those who work iniquity.


15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise,

16 making the most of the time, because the days are evil.


33 The fear of the LORD is instruction in wisdom, and humility goes before honor.


8 He who gets wisdom loves himself; he who keeps understanding will prosper.


5 the wise man also may hear and increase in learning, and the man of understanding acquire skill,


9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.


10 By insolence the heedless make strife, but with those who take advice is wisdom.


23 Whatever your task, work heartily, as serving the Lord and not men,

24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you are serving the Lord Christ.


2 And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.

3 And his delight shall be in the fear of the LORD. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide by what his ears hear;


42 The queen of the South will arise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.

29 This also comes from the LORD of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom.


6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;


9 Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way.


8 The wise of heart will heed commandments, but a prating fool will come to ruin.


28 Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.


18 Plans are established by counsel; by wise guidance wage war.


8 Make haste to answer me, O LORD! My spirit fails! Hide not thy face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the Pit.


15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.


24 O LORD, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom hast thou made them all; the earth is full of thy creatures.


16 And I will lead the blind in a way that they know not, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I will do, and I will not forsake them.


4 Yea, let none that wait for thee be put to shame; let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.

5 Make me to know thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.


5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight.

6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.


8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD.


7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.


5 Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time.

6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer every one.


30 The righteous shall possess the land, and dwell upon it for ever.


33 O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!


105 Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.


23 for those blessed by the LORD shall possess the land, but those cursed by him shall be cut off.


23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,

24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

2 A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.


6 and said to the judges, "Consider what you do, for you judge not for man but for the LORD; he is with you in giving judgment.


20 Daniel said: "Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever. to whom belong wisdom and might.


1 The plans of the mind belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.


26 For to the man who pleases him God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy; but to the sinner he gives the work of gathering and heaping, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.


5 Great is our LORD, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.


15 An intelligent mind acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.


24 Nevertheless I am continually with thee; thou dost hold my right hand.


14 whereas you do not know about tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.


2 that their hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in love, to have all the riches of assured understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, of Christ,

3 in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.


29 He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.


16 To get wisdom is better than gold; to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.


4 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so you will dwell in the land, and enjoy security.


20 Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think,

21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.


1 This is the third time I am coming to you. Any charge must be sustained by the evidence of two or three witnesses.


22 When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you.


13 Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good life let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.


10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.


6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away.

9 A man's mind plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.


10 Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies! I have fled to thee for refuge!

11 Teach me to do thy will, for thou art my God! Let thy good spirit lead me on a level path!


16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.


11 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me up.


24 "Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock;


7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
