14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a lamp, and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand; and it giveth light to all that are in the house. a bushel: the word in the original signifieth a measure containing about a pint less than a peck

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.


16 The people who sat in darkness saw great light; and to them who sat in the region and shadow of death light hath shone.


14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?


9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a special people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: peculiar: or, purchasedpraises: or, virtues
