O Papel do Homem
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, acquit yourselves like men, be strong.
Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
And be not drunk with wine, in which is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
But if any provideth not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
And whatever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men;
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober minded, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 Not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
