1 Da sprach der HERR zu Mose: Gehe hinein zum Pharao und sprich zu ihm: So spricht der HERR, der Gott der Hebräer: Laß mein Volk gehen, daß es mir diene!
2 Denn wenn du dich weigerst, sie ziehen zu lassen und sie weiter aufhältst,
3 siehe, so wird die Hand des HERRN kommen über dein Vieh auf dem Felde, über Pferde, Esel, Kamele, Rinder und Schafe, mit einer sehr schweren Viehseuche.
4 Und der HERR wird einen Unterschied machen zwischen dem Vieh der Israeliten und dem Vieh der Ägypter, daß aus allem, was den Kindern Israel gehört, kein einziges sterbe.
5 Und der HERR bestimmte eine Zeit und sprach: Morgen wird der HERR solches im Lande tun!
6 Und der HERR tat solches am Morgen, und alles Vieh der Ägypter starb, aber von dem Vieh der Kinder Israel starb kein einziges.
7 Und der Pharao sandte Boten hin, und siehe, von dem Vieh Israels war nicht eines gestorben. Gleichwohl blieb das Herz des Pharao verhärtet, daß er das Volk nicht gehen ließ.
8 Da sprach der HERR zu Mose und Aaron: Nehmet eure Hände voll Ofenruß, und Mose sprenge ihn vor dem Pharao gen Himmel,
9 daß er über ganz Ägyptenland stäube und zu Geschwüren werde, die als Blattern aufbrechen an Menschen und Vieh in ganz Ägyptenland.
10 Da nahmen sie Ofenruß und standen vor dem Pharao, und Mose sprengte ihn gen Himmel. Da wurden Geschwüre daraus, die als Blattern aufbrachen an Menschen und Vieh,
11 also daß die Zauberer wegen der Geschwüre nicht vor Mose stehen konnten. Denn an den Zauberern und an allen Ägyptern waren Geschwüre.
12 Aber der HERR verstockte das Herz des Pharao, daß er nicht auf sie hörte, wie denn der HERR zu Mose gesagt hatte.
13 Da sprach der HERR zu Mose: Mache dich am Morgen früh auf und tritt vor den Pharao und sprich zu ihm: So spricht der HERR, der Gott der Hebräer: Laß mein Volk gehen, daß es mir diene!
14 Sonst will ich diesmal alle meine Plagen gegen dein Herz richten und gegen deine Knechte und gegen dein Volk, damit du erfahrest, daß auf der ganzen Erde nicht meinesgleichen ist.
15 Denn ich hätte meine Hand schon ausstrecken und dich und dein Volk mit Pestilenz schlagen können, daß du von der Erde vertilgt worden wärest;
16 aber ich habe dich deswegen bestehen lassen, daß ich dir meine Macht zeige, und daß mein Name auf der ganzen Erde verkündigt werde.
17 Stellst du dich aber meinem Volk noch weiter entgegen und willst es nicht ziehen lassen,
18 siehe, so will ich morgen um diese Zeit einen sehr schweren Hagel regnen lassen, desgleichen in Ägypten bisher nicht gewesen, seit der Zeit, da es gegründet wurde.
19 Und nun laß dein Vieh und alles, was du auf dem Felde hast, in Sicherheit bringen; denn auf alle Menschen und alles Vieh, die sich auf dem Felde befinden und nicht in den Häusern versammelt sind, auf die wird der Hagel fallen, und sie werden umkommen.
20 Wer nun von den Knechten des Pharao des HERRN Wort fürchtete, der ließ seine Knechte und sein Vieh in die Häuser fliehen;
21 welcher Herz sich aber nicht an des HERRN Wort kehrte, die ließen ihre Knechte und ihr Vieh auf dem Felde.
22 Da sprach der HERR zu Mose: Strecke deine Hand aus gen Himmel, damit es über ganz Ägyptenland hagle, über die Menschen und über das Vieh und über alles Gewächs auf dem Felde in Ägypten.
23 Also streckte Mose seinen Stab gen Himmel. Und der HERR ließ donnern und hageln, daß das Feuer auf die Erde schoß. Und der HERR ließ Hagel regnen auf Ägyptenland.
24 Es war aber zugleich Hagel und ein unaufhörliches Blitzen mitten in den Hagel hinein, so stark, daß desgleichen in ganz Ägypten niemals gewesen, seitdem es bevölkert ist.
25 Und der Hagel erschlug in ganz Ägyptenland alles, was auf dem Felde war, Menschen und Vieh. Auch zerschlug der Hagel alles Gewächs auf dem Felde und zerbrach alle Bäume auf dem Lande.
26 Nur im Lande Gosen, wo die Kinder Israel waren, hagelte es nicht.
27 Da schickte der Pharao hin und ließ Mose und Aaron rufen und sprach zu ihnen: Diesmal habe ich mich versündigt! Der HERR ist gerecht; ich aber und mein Volk sind schuldig!
28 Bittet aber den HERRN, daß des Donners Gottes und des Hagels genug sei, so will ich euch ziehen lassen, damit ihr nicht länger hier bleibet!
29 Mose sprach zu ihm: Wenn ich zur Stadt hinaus komme, so will ich meine Hände gegen den HERRN ausstrecken; so wird der Donner ablassen und kein Hagel mehr sein, damit du erfahrest, daß die Erde des HERRN ist!
30 Ich weiß aber, daß du und deine Knechte euch vor Gott, dem HERRN, noch nicht fürchtet.
31 Es waren aber der Flachs und die Gerste zerschlagen; denn die Gerste hatte Ähren und der Flachs Knospen getrieben.
32 Aber der Weizen und der Spelt waren nicht zerschlagen; denn die kommen später.
33 Nun ging Mose vom Pharao weg zur Stadt hinaus und streckte seine Hand aus gegen den HERRN, und der Donner und der Hagel ließen nach, und der Regen fiel nicht mehr auf die Erde.
34 Da aber der Pharao sah, daß der Regen, der Hagel und der Donner nachließen, versündigte er sich weiter und verhärtete sein Herz, er und seine Knechte.
35 Also ward das Herz des Pharao verstockt, daß er die Kinder Israel nicht ziehen ließ, wie der HERR durch Mose geredet hatte.
1 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go in unto Pharaoh, and thou hast spoken unto him, Thus said Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, Send My people away, and they serve me,
2 for, if thou art refusing to send away, and art still keeping hold upon them,
3 lo, the hand of Jehovah is on thy cattle which [are] in the field, on horses, on asses, on camels, on herd, and on flock -- a pestilence very grievous.
4 `And Jehovah hath separated between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt, and there doth not die a thing of all the sons of Israel`s;
5 and Jehovah setteth an appointed time, saying, To-morrow doth Jehovah do this thing in the land.`
6 And Jehovah doth this thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt die, and of the cattle of the sons of Israel not one hath died;
7 and Pharaoh sendeth, and lo, not even one of the cattle of Israel hath died, and the heart of Pharaoh is hard, and he hath not sent the people away.
8 And Jehovah saith unto Moses and unto Aaron, `Take to you the fulness of your hands [of] soot of a furnace, and Moses hath sprinkled it towards the heavens, before the eyes of Pharaoh,
9 and it hath become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and it hath become on man and on cattle a boil breaking forth [with] blains, in all the land of Egypt.`
10 And they take the soot of the furnace, and stand before Pharaoh, and Moses sprinkleth it towards the heavens, and it is a boil [with] blains, breaking forth, on man and on beast;
11 and the scribes have not been able to stand before Moses, because of the boil, for the boil hath been on the scribes, and on all the Egyptians.
12 And Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses.
13 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Rise early in the morning, and station thyself before Pharaoh, and thou hast said unto him, Thus said Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, Send My people away, and they serve Me,
14 for, at this time I am sending all My plagues unto thy heart, and on thy servants, and on thy people, so that thou knowest that there is none like Me in all the earth,
15 for now I have put forth My hand, and I smite thee, and thy people, with pestilence, and thou art hidden from the earth.
16 `And yet for this I have caused thee to stand, so as to show thee My power, and for the sake of declaring My Name in all the earth;
17 still thou art exalting thyself against My people -- so as not to send them away;
18 lo, I am raining about [this] time to-morrow hail very grievous, such as hath not been in Egypt, even from the day of its being founded, even until now.
19 `And, now, send, strengthen thy cattle and all that thou hast in the field; every man and beast which is found in the field, and is not gathered into the house -- come down on them hath the hail, and they have died.`
20 He who is fearing the word of Jehovah among the servants of Pharaoh hath caused his servants and his cattle to flee unto the houses;
21 and he who hath not set his heart unto the word of Jehovah leaveth his servants and his cattle in the field.
22 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Stretch forth thy hand towards the heavens, and there is hail in all the land of Egypt, on man, and on beast, and on every herb of the field in the land of Egypt.`
23 And Moses stretcheth out his rod towards the heavens, and Jehovah hath given voices and hail, and fire goeth towards the earth, and Jehovah raineth hail on the land of Egypt,
24 and there is hail, and fire catching itself in the midst of the hail, very grievous, such as hath not been in all the land of Egypt since it hath become a nation.
25 And the hail smiteth in all the land of Egypt all that [is] in the field, from man even unto beast, and every herb of the field hath the hail smitten, and every tree of the field it hath broken;
26 only in the land of Goshen, where the sons of Israel [are], there hath been no hail.
27 And Pharaoh sendeth, and calleth for Moses and for Aaron, and saith unto them, `I have sinned this time, Jehovah [is] the Righteous, and I and my people [are] the Wicked,
28 make ye supplication unto Jehovah, and plead that there be no voices of God and hail, and I send you away, and ye add not to remain.`
29 And Moses saith unto him, `At my going out of the city, I spread my palms unto Jehovah -- the voices cease, and the hail is not any more, so that thou knowest that the earth [is] Jehovah`s;
30 but thou and thy servants -- I have known that ye are not yet afraid of the face of Jehovah God.`
31 And the flax and the barley have been smitten, for the barley [is] budding, and the flax forming flowers,
32 and the wheat and the rye have not been smitten, for they are late.
33 And Moses goeth out from Pharaoh, [from] the city, and spreadeth his hands unto Jehovah, and the voices and the hail cease, and rain hath not been poured out to the earth;
34 and Pharaoh seeth that the rain hath ceased, and the hail and the voices, and he continueth to sin, and hardeneth his heart, he and his servants;
35 and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he hath not sent the sons of Israel away, as Jehovah hath spoken by the hand of Moses.
