For even when we were with you{+}, this we commanded you{+}, If any will not work, neither let him eat.
You{+} husbands, in like manner, dwell with [your{+} wives] according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint-heirs of the grace of life; to the end that your{+} prayers not be hindered.
Watch{+}, stand fast{+} in the faith, be{+} manly, be{+} strong.
Husbands, love your{+} wives, and do not be bitter against them.
And don't be drunk with wine, in which is riot, but be filled with the Spirit;
For I have known him, to the end that he may command his sons and his household after him, that they may keep the way of Yahweh, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that Yahweh may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him.
But if any does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
Husbands, love your{+} wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and delivered himself up for it;
whatever you{+} do, work heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men;
2 The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, orderly, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 no brawler, no striker; but gentle, not contentious, no lover of money;
4 one who rules well his own house, having [his] children in subjection with all gravity;
And, you{+} fathers, do not provoke your{+} children to wrath: but nurture them in the chastening and admonition of the Lord.
