1 No mais, meus irmãos, alegrai-vos no Senhor. Tornar a escrever-vos as mesmas recomendações, a mim por certo não me é penoso, e a vós vos é conveniente.2 Cuidado com esses cães! Cuidado com esses charlatães! Cuidado com esses mutilados!3 Porque os verdadeiros circuncisos somos nós, que prestamos culto a Deus pelo Espírito de Deus, e pomos nossa glória em Jesus Cristo, e não confiamos na carne.4 No entanto, eu poderia confiar também na carne. Se há quem julgue ter motivos humanos para se gloriar, maiores os possuo eu:5 circuncidado ao oitavo dia, da raça de Israel, da tribo de Benjamim, hebreu e filho de hebreus. Quanto à lei, fariseu;6 quanto ao zelo, perseguidor da Igreja; quanto à justiça legal, declaradamente irrepreensível.7 Mas tudo isso, que para mim eram vantagens, considerei perda por Cristo.8 Na verdade, julgo como perda todas as coisas, em comparação com esse bem supremo: o conhecimento de Jesus Cristo, meu Senhor. Por ele tudo desprezei e tenho em conta de esterco, a fim de ganhar Cristo9 e estar com ele. Não com minha justiça, que vem da lei, mas com a justiça que se obtém pela fé em Cristo, a justiça que vem de Deus pela fé.10 Anseio pelo conhecimento de Cristo e do poder da sua Ressurreição, pela participação em seus sofrimentos, tornando-me semelhante a ele na morte,11 com a esperança de conseguir a ressurreição dentre os mortos.12 Não pretendo dizer que já alcancei {esta meta} e que cheguei à perfeição. Não. Mas eu me empenho em conquistá-la, uma vez que também eu fui conquistado por Jesus Cristo.13 Consciente de não tê-la ainda conquistado, só procuro isto: prescindindo do passado e atirando-me ao que resta para a frente,14 persigo o alvo, rumo ao prêmio celeste, ao qual Deus nos chama, em Jesus Cristo.15 Nós, mais aperfeiçoados que somos, ponhamos nisto o nosso afeto; e se tendes outro sentir, sobre isto Deus vos há de esclarecer.16 Contudo, seja qual for o grau a que chegamos, o que importa é prosseguir decididamente.17 Irmãos, sede meus imitadores, e olhai atentamente para os que vivem segundo o exemplo que nós vos damos.18 Porque há muitos por aí, de quem repetidas vezes vos tenho falado e agora o digo chorando, que se portam como inimigos da cruz de Cristo,19 cujo destino é a perdição, cujo deus é o ventre, para quem a própria ignomínia é causa de envaidecimento, e só têm prazer no que é terreno.20 Nós, porém, somos cidadãos dos céus. É de lá que ansiosamente esperamos o Salvador, o Senhor Jesus Cristo,21 que transformará nosso mísero corpo, tornando-o semelhante ao seu corpo glorioso, em virtude do poder que tem de sujeitar a si toda criatura.

1 It remains, my brethren, that ye rejoice in the Lord. It does not bother me to write the same things to you, and for you [it is] safe.2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.3 For we are the circumcision, who serve God in spirit and glory in Christ Jesus, having no confidence in the flesh.4 Though I might also have reason to confide in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he has whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the lineage of Israel, [of] the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee;6 concerning zeal, a persecutor of the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.7 But those things which were gain to me, I counted loss for Christ.8 And doubtless I even count all things [as] loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them [but] dung, that I may win Christ9 and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:10 That I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death,11 if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.12 Not as though I had already attained [it], either were already perfect, but I follow after, if I may lay hold of that for which I have also been laid hold of by the Christ, Jesus.13 Brethren, I do not reckon to have laid hold of [it] yet, but [this] one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind and extending myself unto those things which are ahead,14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.15 Let us, therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded; and if in anything ye are otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.16 Nevertheless, in that unto which we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us have the same mind.17 Brethren, be imitators of me and consider those who so walk, as ye have us for a pattern.18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often and now tell you even weeping, [that they are] the enemies of the stake of Christ;19 whose end [shall be] perdition, whose God [is their] belly and [whose] glory [is] in their shame, who mind earthly things).20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:21 Who shall transform our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is also able to subdue all things unto himself.:
