12 A! Lucifer, that risedest early, how fellest thou down from heaven; thou that woundedest folks, felledest down altogether into [the] earth.
13 Which saidest in thine heart, I shall ascend [or go up] into heaven, I shall enhance my seat above the stars of heaven; I shall sit in the hill of testament, in the sides of the north.
14 I shall ascend [or go up] on the highness of clouds; I shall be like the Highest.
15 Nevertheless thou shalt be drawn down to hell, into the depth of the pit.
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!14.12 O Lucifer: or, O day star 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
12 How you have fallen from heaven,
morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
13 You said in your heart,
"I will ascend to the heavens;
I will raise my throne
above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.14:13 Or of the north; Zaphon was the most sacred mountain of the Canaanites.
14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High."
15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead,
to the depths of the pit.
12 "How [ch. 24:21;34:3] you are fallen from heaven,
O Day Star, [Job 38:7]son of Dawn!
How you are cut down to the ground,
you who laid the nations low!
13 You said in your heart,
Jer. 51:53;Amos 9:2;[Matt. 11:23;Luke 10:15] ‘I will ascend to heaven;
above the stars of God
Dan. 5:22,23;[2 Thess. 2:4]I will set my throne on high;
I will sit on the mount of assembly
in the far reaches of the north;14:13 Or in the remote parts of Zaphon
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’
15 Ezek. 32:23;Matt. 11:23;Luke 10:15But you are brought down to Sheol,
to the far reaches of the pit.
12 "How you are fallen from heaven,
O shining star, son of the morning!
You have been thrown down to the earth,
you who destroyed the nations of the world.
13 For you said to yourself,
‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars.
I will preside on the mountain of the gods
far away in the north.14:13 Or on the heights of Zaphon.
14 I will climb to the highest heavens
and be like the Most High.’
15 Instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead,
down to its lowest depths.
12 "HowIs. 34:4; Luke 10:18; (Rev. 12:7–9) you are fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,
You who weakened the nations!
13 For you have said in your heart:
Ezek. 28:2; Matt. 11:23‘I will ascend into heaven,
Dan. 8:10; 2 Thess. 2:4I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the Ezek. 28:14mount of the congregation
Ps. 48:2On the farthest sides of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
Is. 47:8; 2 Thess. 2:4I will be like the Most High.’
15 Yet you Ezek. 28:8; Matt. 11:23; Luke 10:15shall be brought down to Sheol,
To the lowest depths of the Pit.
12 "How you have fallen from heaven,
You 14:12 Heb Helel; i.e., shining onestar of the morning, son of the dawn!
You have been cut down to the earth,
You who defeated the nations!
13 "But you said in your heart,
‘I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God,
And I will sit on the mount of assembly
In the recesses of the north.
14 ‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’
15 "Nevertheless you will be brought down to Sheol,
To the recesses of the pit.

13 You said to yourself,
"I will ascend to the heavens; 14:13 Jr 51:53; Ezk 28:2; Am 9:2
I will set up my throne
above the stars of God. 14:13 Dn 5:22–23; 8:10; 2Th 2:4
I will sit on the mount of the gods’ assembly,
in the remotest parts of the North. 14:13 Or of Zaphon, 14:13 Ps 48:2

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, who didst rise in the morning? how art thou fallen to the earth, that didst wound the nations? 13 And thou saidst in thy heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit in the mountain of the covenant, in the sides of the north. 14 I will ascend above the height of the clouds, I will be like the most High. 15 But yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, into the depth of the pit.
