1 For behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.2 But to you that fear my name, shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

1 "Pois certamente vem o dia, ardente como uma fornalha. Todos os arrogantes e todos os malfeitores serão como palha, e aquele dia, que está chegando, ateará fogo neles", diz o Senhor dos Exércitos. "Nem raiz nem galho algum sobrará.2 Mas para vocês que reverenciam o meu nome, o sol da justiça se levantará trazendo cura em suas asas. E vocês sairão e saltarão como bezerros soltos do curral.3 Depois esmagarão os ímpios, que serão como pó sob as solas dos seus pés no dia em que eu agir", diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.4 "Lembrem-se da lei do meu servo Moisés, dos decretos e das ordenanças que lhe dei em Horebe para todo o povo de Israel.5 "Vejam, eu enviarei a vocês o profeta Elias antes do grande e terrível dia do Senhor.6 Ele fará com que os corações dos pais se voltem para seus filhos, e os corações dos filhos para seus pais; do contrário eu virei e castigarei a terra com maldição. "
