1 Now the days of David came near that he should die; and he commanded Solomon his son, saying, 2 "I am going the way of all the earth. You be strong therefore, and show yourself a man; 3 and keep the instruction of Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn yourself. 4 Then Yahweh may establish his word which he spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your children are careful of their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you,’ he said, ‘a man on the throne of Israel.’
5 "Moreover you know also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, even what he did to the two captains of the armies of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner and to Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war on his sash that was around his waist and in his sandals that were on his feet. 6 Do therefore according to your wisdom, and don’t let his gray head go down to Sheol in peace. 7 But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among those who eat at your table; for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom your brother.
8 "Behold, there is with you Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swore to him by Yahweh, saying, ‘I will not put you to death with the sword.’ 9 Now therefore don’t hold him guiltless, for you are a wise man; and you will know what you ought to do to him, and you shall bring his gray head down to Sheol with blood."
10 David slept with his fathers, and was buried in David’s city. 11 The days that David reigned over Israel were forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem. 12 Solomon sat on David his father’s throne; and his kingdom was firmly established.
13 Then Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. She said, "Do you come peaceably?"
He said, "Peaceably. 14 He said moreover, I have something to tell you."
She said, "Say on."
15 He said, "You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign. However, the kingdom is turned around, and has become my brother’s; for it was his from Yahweh. 16 Now I ask one petition of you. Don’t deny me."
She said to him, "Say on."
17 He said, "Please speak to Solomon the king (for he will not tell you ‘no’), that he give me Abishag the Shunammite as wife."
18 Bathsheba said, "All right. I will speak for you to the king."
19 Bathsheba therefore went to king Solomon, to speak to him for Adonijah. The king rose up to meet her and bowed himself to her, and sat down on his throne and caused a throne to be set for the king’s mother; and she sat on his right hand. 20 Then she said, "I ask one small petition of you; don’t deny me."
The king said to her, "Ask on, my mother, for I will not deny you."
21 She said, "Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother as wife."
22 King Solomon answered his mother, "Why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also, for he is my elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah." 23 Then king Solomon swore by Yahweh, saying, "God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life. 24 Now therefore as Yahweh lives, who has established me and set me on my father David’s throne, and who has made me a house as he promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death today."
25 King Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell on him, so that he died. 26 To Abiathar the priest the king said, "Go to Anathoth, to your own fields, for you are worthy of death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you bore the Lord Yahweh’s ark before David my father, and because you were afflicted in all in which my father was afflicted." 27 So Solomon thrust Abiathar out from being priest to Yahweh, that he might fulfill Yahweh’s word which he spoke concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.
28 This news came to Joab; for Joab had followed Adonijah, although he didn’t follow Absalom. Joab fled to Yahweh’s Tent, and held onto the horns of the altar. 29 King Solomon was told, "Joab has fled to Yahweh’s Tent; and behold, he is by the altar." Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, "Go, fall on him."
30 Benaiah came to Yahweh’s Tent, and said to him, "The king says, ‘Come out!’"
He said, "No; but I will die here."
Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, "This is what Joab said, and this is how he answered me."
31 The king said to him, "Do as he has said, and fall on him, and bury him, that you may take away the blood, which Joab shed without cause, from me and from my father’s house. 32 Yahweh will return his blood on his own head, because he fell on two men more righteous and better than he, and killed them with the sword, and my father David didn’t know it: Abner the son of Ner, captain of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the army of Judah. 33 So their blood will return on the head of Joab and on the head of his offspring forever. But for David, for his offspring, for his house, and for his throne, there will be peace forever from Yahweh."
34 Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and fell on him, and killed him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness. 35 The king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his place over the army; and the king put Zadok the priest in the place of Abiathar.
36 The king sent and called for Shimei, and said to him, "Build yourself a house in Jerusalem, and live there, and don’t go anywhere else. 37 For on the day you go out and pass over the brook Kidron, know for certain that you will surely die. Your blood will be on your own head."
38 Shimei said to the king, "What you say is good. As my lord the king has said, so will your servant do." Shimei lived in Jerusalem many days.
39 At the end of three years, two of Shimei’s slaves ran away to Achish, son of Maacah, king of Gath. They told Shimei, saying, "Behold, your slaves are in Gath."
40 Shimei arose, saddled his donkey, and went to Gath to Achish to seek his slaves; and Shimei went and brought his slaves from Gath. 41 Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and had come again.
42 The king sent and called for Shimei, and said to him, "Didn’t I adjure you by Yahweh and warn you, saying, ‘Know for certain that on the day you go out and walk anywhere else, you shall surely die?’ You said to me, ‘The saying that I have heard is good.’ 43 Why then have you not kept the oath of Yahweh and the commandment that I have instructed you with?" 44 The king said moreover to Shimei, "You know in your heart all the wickedness that you did to David my father. Therefore Yahweh will return your wickedness on your own head. 45 But king Solomon will be blessed, and David’s throne will be established before Yahweh forever." 46 So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he went out, and fell on him, so that he died. The kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.
1 大卫的死期近了， 就嘱咐他的儿子所罗门说：
2 "我现在要走世人必走的路了， 你当坚强作大丈夫，
3 谨守耶和华你 神所吩咐的， 遵行他的道， 按摩西律法所写的， 谨守他的律例、诫命、典章和法度； 这样， 无论你作什么， 无论你往哪里去， 都可以亨通。
4 这样， 耶和华必坚立他所说有关我的话， 说： ‘如果你的子孙谨慎自己所行的， 一心一意、诚诚实实行在我面前， 就不断有人坐以色列的王位了。’
5 你也要知道洗鲁雅的儿子约押对我所行的， 就是对以色列的两个元帅： 尼珥的儿子押尼珥和益帖的儿子亚玛撒所行的。他杀了他们， 在和平的时候流他们的血， 像作战时一样， 把战争的血染在他腰间所束的带子上和脚上所穿的鞋子上。
6 所以你要凭你的智慧而行， 不要让他白发到老， 平平安安下到阴间。
7 但是你要恩待基列人巴西莱的众子， 使他们与你同席吃饭， 因为我逃避你哥哥押沙龙的时候， 他们拿食物来迎接我。
8 与你在一起的有巴户琳的便雅悯人基拉的儿子示每； 我往玛哈念去的那天， 他用狠毒的咒语咒骂我。后来他下到约旦河来迎接我的时候， 我就指着耶和华向他起誓， 说： ‘我必不用刀杀死你。’
9 现在， 你不要以他为无罪， 你是个聪明人， 你必知道该怎样待他， 使他白发苍苍流血下到阴间。"
10 大卫与他的列祖同睡， 葬在大卫城里。
11 大卫作以色列王四十年： 在希伯仑作王七年； 在耶路撒冷作王三十三年。
12 于是所罗门坐在他父亲的王位上， 他的国非常稳固。
13 哈及的儿子亚多尼雅去见所罗门的母亲拔示巴， 拔示巴问他： "你来是为和平吗？"他回答： "是为和平来的。"
14 他又说： "我有话对你说。"拔示巴说： "你说吧！ "
15 亚多尼雅说： "你知道这国位原是我的， 以色列众人都希望我作王； 不料国位反归了我的弟弟， 因为他得着国位是出于耶和华。
16 现在我有一事请求你， 请你不要拒绝。"拔示巴对他说： "你说吧！ "
17 他说： "求你向所罗门王说， 请他把书念的女子亚比煞赐给我作妻子， 因为他必不会拒绝你。"
18 拔示巴说： "好吧， 我必为你向王请求。"
19 于是拔示巴去见所罗门王， 为亚多尼雅的事向他请求。王起来迎接她， 向她下拜， 然后坐在自己的王座上， 又吩咐人为王的母亲摆设一个座位； 她就坐在王的右边。
20 拔示巴说： "我有一件小事求你， 请不要拒绝我。"王对她说： "母亲， 你说吧， 我必不会拒绝你。"
21 拔示巴说： "请把书念的女子亚比煞赐给你哥哥亚多尼雅作妻子。"
22 所罗门王回答他母亲， 说： "你为什么要为亚多尼雅求书念的女子亚比煞呢？你也可以为他求这个国位， 因为他是我的哥哥， 又有亚比亚他祭司和洗鲁雅的儿子约押拥护他。"
23 于是所罗门王指着耶和华起誓， 说： "如果亚多尼雅不因说了这话而送命， 愿 神惩罚我， 并且加倍惩罚我。
24 现在， 我指着永活的耶和华──那位坚立了我， 使我坐在我父亲大卫的王位上， 又照他所应许， 为我建立家室的──起誓， 今天亚多尼雅必被处死！ "
25 于是， 所罗门王差派耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅去击杀亚多尼雅， 他就死了。
26 王对亚比亚他祭司说： "你回亚拿突自己的田地去吧！ 你本来是该死的， 但我今天不杀死你， 因为你在我父亲大卫面前抬过主耶和华的约柜， 又与我父亲同受一切苦难。"
27 所罗门就罢免了亚比亚他， 不准他作耶和华的祭司， 这样就应验了耶和华在示罗所说有关以利家的话。
28 约押虽然没有拥护过押沙龙， 但曾拥护亚多尼雅； 这消息传到约押那里， 他就逃到耶和华的帐幕里去， 抓紧祭坛的角。
29 有人告诉所罗门王约押逃到耶和华的帐幕里去了， 现在就在祭坛的旁边。于是所罗门差派耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅去说： "你去把他杀死。"
30 比拿雅来到耶和华的帐幕那里， 对约押说： "王这样吩咐说： ‘你出来！ ’"约押说： "我不出去！ 我要死在这里。"于是比拿雅回复王说： "约押这样说， 他这样回答我。"
31 王对比拿雅说： "你照着约押的话行吧！ 杀死他， 把他埋葬， 好叫约押所流无辜人的血， 从我和我父的家除去。
32 耶和华必使约押流无辜人的血的罪归到他自己头上， 因为他击杀了两个比他又公义又良善的人， 就是用刀杀了以色列的元帅尼珥的儿子押尼珥， 和犹大的元帅益帖的儿子亚玛撒， 这事我的父亲大卫一点都不知道。
33 愿流这二人的血的罪归到约押和他后裔的头上， 直到永远； 但大卫和他的后裔， 他的家和他的国却要从耶和华那里得享平安， 直到永远。"
34 于是耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅上去击杀他， 把他杀死， 葬在旷野约押自己的家中。
35 王任命耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅取代约押统领军队； 又任命撒督祭司取代亚比亚他的职位。
36 王派人去把示每召来， 对他说： "你要为自己在耶路撒冷建造一座房屋， 住在那里， 不可从那里出来到任何别的地方去。
37 你必须知道， 你哪一天出来， 越过汲沦溪， 你哪一天就要死。你流人血的罪必归到你自己的头上。"
38 示每对王说： "这话很好， 我主我王怎么说， 你仆人就照着行。"于是示每在耶路撒冷住了很久。
39 三年以后， 示每的两个仆人逃到迦特王玛迦的儿子亚吉那里。有人告诉示每说： "你的仆人在迦特。"
40 于是示每起来， 预备好自己的骡子， 就往迦特亚吉王那里去寻找他的仆人。示每去了， 又把他的仆人从迦特带回来。
41 有人告诉所罗门示每离开耶路撒冷往迦特去， 又回来了。
42 王就派人把示每召来， 对他说： "我不是叫你指着耶和华起誓， 并且警告你： ‘你必须知道， 你哪一天出去到任何别的地方， 你哪一天就要死’吗？你也对我说过： ‘这话很好， 我必听从。’
43 现在你为什么不遵守你向耶和华所起的誓， 和我吩咐你的命令呢？"
44 王又对示每说： "你自己知道你心里的一切恶事， 就是你向我父亲大卫所行的； 现在耶和华要把你的罪归到你的头上。
45 所罗门王却要蒙福， 大卫的王位必在耶和华眼前得坚立， 直到永远。"
46 于是王命令耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅， 比拿雅就出去击杀示每， 示每就死了。这样， 所罗门就巩固了他的国。
