1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army came against Jerusalem, and besieged it. 2 In the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, a breach was made in the city. 3 All the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate: Nergal Sharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergal Sharezer, Rabmag, with all the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon. 4 When Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, then they fled and went out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, through the gate between the two walls; and he went out toward the Arabah.
5 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. When they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he pronounced judgment on him. 6 Then the king of Babylon killed Zedekiah’s sons in Riblah before his eyes. The king of Babylon also killed all the nobles of Judah. 7 Moreover he put out Zedekiah’s eyes and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.
8 The Chaldeans burned the king’s house and the people’s houses with fire and broke down the walls of Jerusalem. 9 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the rest of the people who remained in the city, the deserters also who fell away to him, and the rest of the people who remained. 10 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, who had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.
11 Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon commanded Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard concerning Jeremiah, saying, 12 "Take him and take care of him. Do him no harm; but do to him even as he tells you."
13 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, Nebushazban, Rabsaris, and Nergal Sharezer, Rabmag, and all the chief officers of the king of Babylon 14 sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the guard, and committed him to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should bring him home. So he lived among the people.
15 Now Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the guard, saying, 16 "Go, and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, ‘Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: "Behold, I will bring my words on this city for evil, and not for good; and they will be accomplished before you in that day. 17 But I will deliver you in that day," says Yahweh; "and you will not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. 18 For I will surely save you. You won’t fall by the sword, but you will escape with your life, because you have put your trust in me," says Yahweh.’"
1 犹大王西底家第九年十月， 巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领他的全军来攻击耶路撒冷， 把城围困起来。
2 西底家第十一年四月九日， 城被攻破。
3 巴比伦王所有的将领： 尼甲．沙利薛、三甲．尼波、大臣（"大臣"的本意不明确）撒西金、术士长（"术士长"的本意不明确）尼甲．沙利薛， 以及巴比伦王所有其余的将领， 都进城， 坐在中门。
4 犹大王西底家和所有的军兵看见了他们， 就逃跑， 在夜间逃出城外， 经过王的花园， 穿过两道城墙中间的门， 直往亚拉巴的路上走去。
5 但迦勒底人的军队追赶他们， 在耶利哥的原野上追上了西底家， 把他拿住， 带到哈马地的利比拉去见巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒； 尼布甲尼撒就宣判他的罪状。
6 巴比伦王在利比拉， 当着西底家眼前杀了他的众子； 巴比伦王也杀了犹大所有的显贵，
7 并且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎了， 用铜链锁住他， 把他带到巴比伦去。
8 迦勒底人放火焚烧王宫和民房， 又拆毁了耶路撒冷的城墙。
9 城里剩下的人民， 和那些已经向巴比伦王投降的人， 以及其余的人民， 都被护卫长尼布撒拉旦掳到巴比伦去。
10 但护卫长尼布撒拉旦把民中一些一无所有的穷人留在犹大地， 同时把葡萄园和田地分给他们。
11 巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒提到耶利米， 吩咐护卫长尼布撒拉旦说：
12 "你把他带去， 好好照顾他， 切不可伤害他； 他对你怎样说， 你就给他照办。"
13 于是护卫长尼布撒拉旦、大臣（"大臣"的本意不明确）尼布沙斯班、术士长（"术士长"的本意不明确）尼甲．沙利薛， 以及巴比伦王所有的大臣都派人去，
14 把耶利米从卫兵的院子里提出来， 交给沙番的孙子、亚希甘的儿子基大利， 叫他带耶利米回家去。这样， 耶利米就住在人民中间。
15 耶利米还监禁在卫兵的院子里的时候， 耶和华的话临到他， 说：
16 "你去告诉古实人以伯．米勒说： ‘万军之耶和华以色列的 神这样说： 看哪！ 我必在这城实现我的话， 降祸不降福； 到那日， 这一切都必在你面前实现。
17 但到了那日， 我必拯救你； 你必不至交在你所惧怕的人手里。’这是耶和华的宣告。
18 ‘因为我必定搭救你； 你必不会倒在刀下， 必可以捡回自己的性命， 因为你信靠我。’"这是耶和华的宣告。
