Yahweh avenges and is full of wrath. Yahweh takes vengeance on his adversaries, and he maintains wrath against his enemies. 3 Yahweh is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. Yahweh has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. 4 He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers. Bashan and Carmel languish. The flower of Lebanon languishes. 5 The mountains quake before him, and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, yes, the world, and all who dwell in it. 6 Who can stand before his indignation? Who can endure the fierceness of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken apart by him. 7 Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him. 8 But with an overflowing flood, he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness. 9 What do you plot against Yahweh? He will make a full end. Affliction won’t rise up the second time. 10 For entangled like thorns, and drunken as with their drink, they are consumed utterly like dry stubble. 11 One has gone out of you who devises evil against Yahweh, who counsels wickedness.

12 Yahweh says: "Though they are in full strength and likewise many, even so they will be cut down and pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more. 13 Now I will break his yoke from off you, and will burst your bonds apart."

14 Yahweh has commanded concerning you: "No more descendants will bear your name. Out of the house of your gods, I will cut off the engraved image and the molten image. I will make your grave, for you are vile."

15 Behold,*1:15 "Behold", from "הִנֵּה", means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection. on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, Judah! Perform your vows, for the wicked one will no more pass through you. He is utterly cut off.

Urgia Lui se varsă*Apoc. 16:1. ca focul și se prăbușesc stâncile înaintea Lui. 7 Domnul este bun*1 Cron. 16:34.Ps. 100:5.Ier. 33:11.Plâng. 3:25., El este un loc de scăpare în ziua necazului și cunoaște*Ps. 1:6.2 Tim. 2:19. pe cei ce se încred în El. 8 Dar*Dan. 9:26;11:10,22,40. cu niște valuri ce se varsă peste mal va nimici cetatea Ninive și va urmări pe vrăjmașii Lui până în întuneric. 9 Ce planuri*Ps. 2:1. faceți voi împotriva Domnului? El le*1 Sam. 3:12. zădărnicește! Nenorocirea nu va veni de două ori. 10 Căci vor fi ca niște mănunchiuri de spini*2 Sam. 23:6,7. încâlciți și, tocmai când vor fi beți*Cap. 3:11. de vinul lor, vor fi mistuiți*Mal. 4:1. de foc, ca o miriște de tot uscată. 11 Din tine, Ninive, a ieșit cel ce urzea*2 Împ. 19:22,23. rele împotriva Domnului, cel ce făcea planuri răutăcioase. 12 Așa vorbește Domnul: „Oricât de mulți și puternici vor fi, toți vor fi secerați*2 Împ. 19:35,37. și vor pieri*Is. 8:8.Dan. 11:10.. Chiar dacă te-am întristat, Ierusalime, nu te voi mai întrista… 13 Ci îți voi sfărâma*Ier. 2:20;30:8. jugul acum de pe tine și-ți voi rupe legăturile…" 14 Iată ce a poruncit însă Domnul împotriva ta, Asur: „Nu vei mai avea urmași care să-ți poarte numele; voi ridica din casa dumnezeului tău chipurile cioplite sau turnate; îți voi pregăti*2 Împ. 19:37. mormântul, căci te-ai aflat prea ușor." 15 Iată*Is. 52:7.Rom. 10:15. pe munți picioarele solului care vestește pacea! Prăznuiește-ți sărbătorile, Iudo, împlinește-ți juruințele! Căci cel rău*Vers. 11,12. nu va mai trece prin mijlocul tău, este*Vers. 14. nimicit cu desăvârșire…
