1 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, to be building him up. 3 For even Messiah didn’t please himself. But, as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me." 4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that through perseverance and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. 5 Now the God of perseverance and of encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Messiah Yeshua, 6 that with one accord you may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

7 Therefore accept one another, even as Messiah also accepted you, to the glory of God. 8 Now I say that Messiah has been made a servant of the circumcision for the truth of God, that he might confirm the promises given to the fathers, 9 and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written,

"Therefore I will give praise to you among the Gentiles

and sing to your name."

10 Again he says,

"Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people."

11 Again,

"Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles!

Let all the peoples praise him."

12 Again, Isaiah says,

"There will be the root of Jesse,

he who arises to rule over the Gentiles;

in him the Gentiles will hope."

13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

14 I myself am also persuaded about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish others. 15 But I write the more boldly to you in part, as reminding you, because of the grace that was given to me by God, 16 that I should be a servant of Messiah Yeshua to the Gentiles, serving as a priest of the Good News of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. 17 I have therefore my boasting in Messiah Yeshua in things pertaining to God. 18 For I will not dare to speak of any things except those which Messiah worked through me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed, 19 in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of God’s Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and around as far as to Illyricum, I have fully preached the Good News of Messiah; 20 yes, making it my aim to proclaim the Good News, not where Messiah was already named, that I might not build on another’s foundation. 21 But, as it is written,

"They will see, to whom no news of him came.

They who haven’t heard will understand."

22 Therefore also I was hindered these many times from coming to you, 23 but now, no longer having any place in these regions, and having these many years a longing to come to you, 24 whenever I travel to Spain, I will come to you. For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be helped on my way there by you, if first I may enjoy your company for a while. 25 But now, I say, I am going to Jerusalem, serving the holy ones. 26 For it has been the good pleasure of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the holy ones who are at Jerusalem. 27 Yes, it has been their good pleasure, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they owe it to them also to serve them in fleshly things. 28 When therefore I have accomplished this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go on by way of you to Spain. 29 I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of the Good News of Messiah.

30 Now I beg you, brothers, by our Lord Yeshua the Messiah and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me, 31 that I may be delivered from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the holy ones, 32 that I may come to you in joy through the will of God, and together with you, find rest. 33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

1 Ainda que acreditemos que para o Senhor é indiferente que façamos ou não essas coisas, não podemos contudo continuar a praticá-las para nos agradarmos a nós mesmos; porque temos de ter em consideração as dúvidas e os receios dos outros.2 Procuremos agradar aos outros, não a nós próprios; façamos aquilo que pode contribuir para a edificação da sua vida espiritual.3 Nem Cristo procurou o seu próprio prazer. Como disse o Salmista: Os insultos dos teus inimigos têm caído sobre mim. d4 Porque tudo o que anteriormente foi escrito, é para nos ensinar, para que pela paciência e pelo encorajamento das escrituras, aguardemos esperançadamente as promessas de Deus.5 Possa Deus, que vos dá paciência e coragem, ajudar-vos a viver em harmonia uns com os outros, na mesma atitude que Cristo teve. E então todos podem, a uma só voz, dar glória a Deus, o Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.7 Sendo assim, recebam-se afectuosamente uns aos outros, tal como Cristo vos recebeu a vocês mesmos, e assim Deus será glorificado.8 E lembrem-se de que Cristo veio como um servo dos judeus, a fim de mostrar que Deus cumpre as suas promessas, e de revelar a sua verdade.13 Que Deus, o que vos deu esperança, vos mantenha felizes e cheios da paz que nasce pela fé, através do poder do Espírito Santo nas vossas vidas.14 Eu estou certo, irmãos, de que vocês estão cheios de bondade, para que, com o conhecimento que já têm, possam aconselhar-se uns aos outros.15 Mas apesar disso tomei ousadia para vos escrever sobre estes pontos, convencido de que o que vos falta é sobretudo que estes assuntos estejam sempre bem presentes na vossa mente; pois que, pela graça de Deus, fui chamado a ser mensageiro de Jesus Cristo junto de vocês, os gentios, levando-vos a mensagem do evangelho, para que sejam apresentados a Deus como um sacrifício inteiramente aceite por ele, santificado pelo Espírito Santo.17 Por isso me é lícito ter esta grande satisfação por tudo aquilo que Cristo Jesus fez por meu intermédio no meu serviço para Deus. -18 Porque nem sequer ousaria abrir a boca se Cristo não tivesse usado a minha vida para levar a Deus os gentios, ganhando-os através da minha mensagem e da forma como vivi diante deles,e19 e ainda pelos milagres feitos por meu intermédio como sinais vindos de Deus - tudo isto pelo poder do Espírito Santo. E desta maneira tenho pregado o evangelho de Cristo, por toda a parte, desde Jerusalém até ao Ilírico.20 O meu grande desejo tem sido ir sempre mais longe, pregando de preferência onde o nome de Cristo ainda não tenha sido ouvido, e não edificando sobre um fundamento posto por outro.22 Eis no fundo a verdadeira razão por que não pude ir visitar-vos mais cedo.23 Mas agora acabei enfim o meu trabalho nestas regiões e estou desejoso de ir ter convosco, após todos estes longos anos de espera. Porque estou o fazer planos para uma viagem à Espanha , e de caminho tenciono ficar em Roma um tempo para gozar da vossa convivência, depois do que alguns de vocês poderão até ajudar-me no prosseguimento da minha viagem.25 Mas antes disso tenho de ir a Jerusalém levar uma oferta para os crentes de lá, pois pareceu bem aos cristãos da Macedónia e da Acaia enviar um donativo para os seus irmãos de Jerusalém, que têm atravessado tempos bem difíceis.27 Eles tiveram muita alegria em fazer isso porque sentem que têm como que uma dívida para com os cristãos de Jerusalém, pois que afinal os gentios foram participantes das bênçãos espirituais dos judeus. E sentem que o mínimo que poderão fazer em compensação será enviar à igreja de Jerusalém uma ajuda material.:28 Portanto, logo que tenha executado essa tarefa, entregando esse fruto da sua gratidão, irei ver-vos no meu caminho para a Espanha.29 E estou certo de que nessa visita que vos farei hei-de levar-vos todas as riquezas espirituais da palavra de Cristo.
