1 These are the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
2 And Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no sons; and Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.
3 And David with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to the office of their service.
4 There were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar, and thus they were divided. Among the sons of Eleazar were sixteen chief men of their fathers houses, and eight heads of their fathers houses among the sons of Ithamar.
5 Thus they were divided by lot, these and these; for there were officers of the sanctuary and officers of the house of God, from the sons of Eleazar and from the sons of Ithamar.
6 And the scribe, Shemaiah the son of Nethanel, one of the Levites, wrote them down before the king, the rulers, Zadok the priest, Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers of the priests and Levites, one fathers house taken for Eleazar and one for Ithamar.
7 The first lot came out to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,
8 the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
9 the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
10 the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
11 the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
12 the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
13 the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,
14 the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,
15 the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Pizzez,
16 the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezekel,
17 the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,
18 the twenty-third to Delaiah, the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.
19 This was the assignment of their service to come into the house of Jehovah according to their ordinance by the hand of Aaron their father, as Jehovah the God of Israel had commanded him.
20 And for the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.
21 For Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, the first was Isshiah.
22 Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath.
23 Of the sons of Hebron, Jeriah was the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
24 Of the sons of Uzziel, Michah; of the sons of Michah, Shamir.
25 The brother of Michah, Isshiah; of the sons of Isshiah, Zechariah.
26 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The son of Jaaziah: Beno.
27 The sons of Merari by Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.
28 Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.
29 Of Kish, the son of Kish: Jerahmeel.
30 The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites according to their fathers houses.
31 These also cast lots, as their brothers the sons of Aaron did, in the presence of King David: Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the fathers houses of the priests and Levites, and the chief fathers, as well as their younger brethren.
1 E QUANTO aos filhos de Aarão, estas foram as suas divisões: os filhos de Aarão foram Nadabe, e Abiú, e Eleazar e Itamar. 2 E morreram Nadabe e Abiú antes de seu pai, e não tiveram filhos: e Eleazar e Itamar administravam o sacerdócio. 3 E Davi os repartiu, como também a Zadoque, dos filhos de Eleazar, e a Aimeleque, dos filhos de Itamar, segundo o seu ofício no seu ministério. 4 E achou-se que eram muitos mais os filhos de Eleazar entre os chefes de famílias do que os filhos de Itamar, quando os repartiram: dos filhos de Eleazar dezesseis chefes das casas dos pais, mas dos filhos de Itamar, segundo as casas de seus pais, oito. 5 E os repartiram por sortes, uns com os outros; porque houve maiorais do santuário e maiorais da casa de Deus, assim dentre os filhos de Eleazar, como dentre os filhos de Itamar. 6 E os registrou Semaías, filho de Natanael, o escrivão dentre os levitas, perante o rei, e os príncipes, e Zadoque, o sacerdote, e Aimeleque, filho de Abiatar, e os chefes dos pais entre os sacerdotes, e entre os levitas: uma dentre as casas dos pais se tomou para Eleazar, e se tomou outra para Itamar. 7 E saiu a primeira sorte a Joiaribe, a segunda a Jedaías, 8 A terceira a Harim, a quarta a Seorim, 9 A quinta a Malquias, a sexta a Miamim, 10 A sétima a Hacoz, a oitava a Abias, 11 A nona a Jesua, a décima a Secanias, 12 A undécima a Eliasibe, a duodécima a Jaquim, 13 A décima terceira a Hupá, a décima quarta a Jesebeabe, 14 A décima quinta a Bilgá, a décima sexta a Imer, 15 A décima sétima a Hezir, a décima oitava a Hapises, 16 A décima nona a Petaías, a vigésima a Jeezequel, 17 A vigésima primeira a Jaquim, a vigésima segunda a Gamul, 18 A vigésima terceira a Delaías, a vigésima quarta a Maazias. 19 O ofício destes no seu ministério era entrar na casa do Senhor, segundo lhes fora ordenado por Aarão seu pai, como o Senhor Deus de Israel lhe tinha ordenado. 20 E do resto dos filhos de Levi: dos filhos de Anrão, Subael: dos filhos de Subael, Jedias. 21 Quanto a Reabias: dos filhos de Reabias: Issias era chefe; 22 Dos isaritas, Selomote; dos filhos de Selomote, Jaate; 23 E dos filhos de Hebrom, Jerias o primeiro, Amarias o segundo, Jaaziel o terceiro, Jecameão o quarto; 24 Dos filhos de Uziel, Mica; dos filhos de Mica, Samir; 25 O irmão de Mica, Issias; dos filhos de Issias, Zacarias; 26 Os filhos de Merari, Maeli e Musi; dos filhos de Jaazias, Beno; 27 Os filhos de Merari de Jaazias, Beno, e Soão, e Zacur, e Hibri; 28 De Maeli, Eleazar: e este não teve filhos. 29 Quanto a Quis: dos filhos de Quis, Jerameel; 30 E os filhos de Musi, Maeli, e Eder, e Jerimote: estes foram os filhos dos levitas, segundo as suas casas paternas. 31 E também eles lançaram sortes igualmente com seus irmãos, os filhos de Aarão, perante o rei Davi, e Zadoque, e Aimeleque, e os chefes dos pais entre os sacerdotes e entre os levitas: o chefe da casa dos pais e bem assim seu irmão menor.
